TRW’s Aeronautical Divisions, manufacturers Line Replaceable Units (LRU) needs to predict its future
business for the future 20 years. The forecasting takes into consideration, the two main sources of
business to TRW, which are Original Equipment (OE) and Manufacturing, Repair and Overhauling
(MRO). Apart from functional complexities the major requirement for the client is at the performance level
where millions of records need to be handled in a reasonable time and provide many functional reports,
which form their basis for quantities to be manufactured. In this project a novel attempt is made to bring
this kind of a forecasting engine to the web, which should be the first of its kind. This Project has two
major modules one which caters to the requirement of OE and other, which takes care of MRO. This
project is developed using JSP Technology for the Front end and Java as the language for developing the
Object Model, which forms the backbone of this forecasting Engine. For MRO where the data is very
huge, the traditional programming consumes time, for attaining high performance we have used a new
concept called Object Model in Memory. The concept of Partitioning in oracle is used extensively to
improve the performance of database operations
