Supplier Quality Engineer – 2005-2009 Initiated, developed & implemented Supplier Rating System
used for developing steel suppliers. Ratings based on parts delivered, defects, PCA responsiveness,
and individual deliveries. Through proactive approach, goal setting and multiple visits, suppliers of raw
steel and stamped steel starting @ 70% (code red) achieved 97%+ (code green) in 5 months for all
steel and stamping suppliers. PPM drop of 100+ average per supplier to average of 20 PPM or less.
Dove-tailed GM’s QSB quality system in auditing along with TS16949, ISO/QS Systems at suppliers for
self auditing. Developed military vehicle supplier to full quality system recognition. Recognized by GM
Executive Quality Director as premiere supplier to GM due to changes in supplier and customer quality
expectations. Recognized by Herman Miller Furniture as primary supplier for steel roll formed product.
Quality Engineer/Manager - Responsible for APQP / TS16949 documentation & follow through on all
3 domestic OEM’s as well as Mercedes RS car platform. Re-established quality metrics within
company to be a driving force in production and customer satisfaction. Established credible and reliable
quality policies and procedures to achieve successful TS16949 certification as well as QS9000/9001
certification. Re-established solid communication between domestic OEM’s and Mercedes to drive
PPM’s out of quality metrics. Awarded $9m in new launch activity by HMI and $41m by GM.
Venture Industries
Supplier Quality Engineer/QE – 2003-2005 Initiated, developed and implemented Supplier Rating
System used for developing special plastics & steel component suppliers. Supplier & customer PPAP
review and approvals, supplier concerns and data tracking with concerns back to supplier. Supplier and
customer interactions on GM launch readiness, WWP readiness, CS1/2, PRR’s, CR’s, ICAR’s, at all
levels of involvement. Coordinated periodic Supplier Control Plan and FMEA reviews and audits.
Successfully established new quality metric system with General Motors and Ford to achieve GM’s
Quality Rating of Green on QSB and Ford’s Q1 quality rating and flag.
Summit Polymers Inc.
Advance Quality Engineer – 2002-2003
All aspects of advance of Quality Engineering (APQP) for launch of production of 2005 Ford car
platform including PPAP submissions (both supplier and customer), MSA studies and reviews; Gauge
design review, gauge R&R’s, initial process capability studies, PFMEA and control plan initiation and
review, DVP&R initiation with lab testing, AAR initiation and review, customer interaction.
Quality Field Engineer
Royal Plastics – 2000-2002
Quality Engineering Liaison for Royal Plastics with Tier 1 automotive suppliers as well as lawn and
garden consumer goods manufacturers. Responsible for updates to and from the customer regarding
quality of plastic molded parts. Also responsible for color, calibration, engineering concerns; worked
closely with project engineering to ensure quality parts and service. Assisted in ISO/QS 9000
Certification, retention and ongoing improvements.
Accomplishments: Reduced 200+ PPM plant wide to under 20ppm securing bronze quality award
from Johnson Controls Interiors; Facilitating change on 20+ tier-1 auto supplier sites from ongoing
weekly reactive visits to monthly proactive contacts. Successfully implemented DMR reduction team to
reduce/ eliminate quantity and label errors.
