Nortel Networks – UMTS Core Network System software test
Prime tester for numerous test activities designed to improve performance for Nortel’s UMTS 3G SGSN
core network product line. Consistently met planned deadlines. Met or exceeded management required
expectations as tracked by Nortel’s priorities process. Performed process level and system level capacity
tests to gather data for systems engineering to be used for system planning.
• Responsible for running customer call model traffic scenarios using MGTS call generation tool.
• Key member of a team assigned to improve Signaling gateway (SG) IU session performance in
Hot sparing (card switchover) configuration. Switchovers improved from 5K active sessions at 5
per second to 100K active sessions at 50 per second with no active sessions being dropped.
• Lead tester for a feature to increase the rate at which new subscribers could access the network
via TCAP and SS7 protocols. Improved from 6 per second to 60 per second.

Nortel Networks – MTX TDMA Cellular Radio test 1998 – 2000
Transitioned into test role testing MTX TDMA radio software as well as all components in a DMS network
necessary to make mobile phone calls. This included CM, ICP and ICRM testing. Prime tester on mobile
assisted handoff feature designed to reduce the impact on radio power controlled handovers.
• Proficient in radio power controlled handoffs. Assisted prime for this feature run test cases and
rewrote 30 percent of the test cases to correct unforeseen issues.
• Presented training classes for new hires and gave tests to make sure they understood the lab
setup. This training proved to bring these people up to speed on Nortel TDMA testing methods
by as much as 50%.
• TDMA Radio field support prime responsible for tracking field issues and working with design to
resolve and verify and sanitize fixes. Held weekly meetings with field engineers and customers
that prioritized issues and planned a process to resolve the high running issues.
Nortel Networks – RF Lab coordinator 1997 – 1998
Served as RF lab coordinator during buildup of new RF lab that consisted of 10 cell sites, real
Mobile phones and test equipment.
• Tracked RF lab build out progress and reporting status bi-weekly.
• Managed all test equipment by implementing a test equipment database, checkout list and
ensured required equipment was in calibration.
• Created a weekly schedule for 50 TDMA testers that needed to use the lab for their
