Title: ETL Architect/Developer (contractor)

Ace insurance is one of the leading company in commercial insurance business. Working on

design and development of the ETL processes and maps to replace existing systems. This

project uses DB2 9.1 database, Informatica 8.1 as an ETL tool and COGNOS as the BI tool.

Responsibilities:

• As an ETL Architect design and develop ETL processes for AIR Replatform subsystem.

• Business Requirements (KPI) gathering. Time estimation for ETL development work.

• W orking with Data Modeler and DBA to coordinate database changes. Coordinate

QA/UAT testing.

• Informatica development of complex ETL processes and Shared objects, maplets,

mappings and functions.

Title: ETL Architect/Developer (contractor)

Dell computers is the largest personal computer manufacturer in the world. DFSDWIR Project

was designed to convert existing Oracle data warehouse to Teradata Data warehouse platform. I

worked as an ETL Architect on release 1.5 and 2.0 of this project. Data sources were flat files,

Oracle 10g and UDTs. This project is done using Informatica 8.5.1 and Informatica Data

Explorer. For this project source and staging was on Oracle 10g and target was Teradata V2R6

systems having 70TB data.

Responsibilities:

• Implemented ETL tuning/optimization process using Push Down and partitioning.

• Developed ETL Architecture for phase 2.

• W orking with DBAs to coordinate database changes and tuning.

• Business Requirements (KPI) gathering.

• W ork on ETL Data Quality(IDQ), data profiling(IDE) to assist data modeling.

Yellow Roadway Worldwide Technology Services(YRCWT):

Yellow Roadway is the biggest transportation company in LTL (less than truck load) business in

USA with gross revenue over $9 billions. It has many subsidiary companies under the YRCW

umbrella such as Yellow Freight, Roadway Express, US Freightways, USF Logistics, Meridian IQ

and some recent partnerships in China for worldwide business. I was chosen for various major

projects throughout my employment with YRCW such as Y2K, Shared FMS, Enterprise Data

Warehouse, Data Marts and Business Intelligence applications.

i) EDW Releases 1, 2, 3, 4 and RI Release: Jan 2005 to Dec 2007

Title: ETL Lead/Architect (Permanent job)

I worked as an ETL Lead and ETL Architect for EDW project. This project is the biggest

data warehouse undertaking to integrate transportation and logistics data of various

YRCW companies. YRCW companies work on various distinct and isolated technologies

such as mainframe, AS400 (iSeries), Adabas, M204, sequel server and DB2. This project

has finished its 4 releases and has planned for another 4 releases. This project uses

Oracle, Teradata v2R6 as target databases for ODS and Data Warehouse, Informatica

as the ETL tool, ERWIN for data modeling and Business Objects as the BI tool.

Responsibilities:

• Managed ETL Resources located at different locations in USA and offshore.

• Managed ETL SLA, metrics, risks and issues for ETL development and Production

Support, change tickets etc.

• Implemented ETL tuning/optimization process. Developed ETL and BI Architecture.

• Used Power Center, Power Exchange, data profiler, metadata manager. INFORMATICA

installations and administration.

• W riting ETL specifications and Informatica ETL code reviews.

• Data Architecture using Erwin for 3NF and Dimensional modeling. Worked with DBA for

Title: DW System Analyst

This project was the initial Data warehouse in Oracle Database comprising only US

Freightways companies. The source information was available from various AS400s and

Adabas HP systems.

Being the largest IT Company in south East Asia, worked with various clients at client sites

making use of CMM methodology

Worked as an offshore coordinator for GE capital railcar services for PERDIEM

system. My responsibilities were to understand requirements from offshore manager,

analysis and coding in RPG400. Co-ordination between offshore and onshore

teams for the requirements in PERDIEM module.

ii) Heinz India Ltd., Bombay India - Dec 1996 till April 1997

Worked on Implementation of Avalon ERP package. This package was using

ORACLE and UNIX environment.

iii) Proctor and Gamble India Ltd., Bombay India : Jan 1996 till Nov 1996

Worked on enhancement of payroll system using AS400 and COBOL/400. My role

was to get requirements from users and enhance the existing HR and Payroll system.
