SUMMARY:
I am seeking a cost accounting or cost analyst position. My greatest strengths include my
careful attention to detail, a particular focus and skill in fact finding and problem resolution,
and the creative approaches that I take in the implementation and execution of a plan.
EXPERIENCE:
November 2008 Various (Independently Contracted for) Orem, UT
to Retail/Amusement Park/Auto Dealership/Banking/Hotel/Restaurant Customer Service Auditor
Present
As an independently contracted agent for between 12 and 15 companies, I regularly visit
establishments (unannounced and anonymously) in a variety of industries to evaluate a
pre-determined set of measurable variables with a particular focus on their product presentation
and layout, sales skills, store cleanliness, and customer service. I am assigned "dummy
scenarios" to portray a certain segment of the consumer population, and required to report in
detail the results of my interaction from beginning to end in descriptive text. Additionally, photos
and audio recording are at times required. I specialize in hotel and restaurant audits.
March 2002 Young Life Research Clinic Springville, UT
to Acupuncturist
October 2005
As a member of the staff of doctors at the Young Life Research Clinic, my responsibilities
included assessing the needs and guiding the direction of patient care in a natural and holistic
health care setting. In particular, the skills that I developed that will carry over into a desired cost
accounting/analyst position are the diagnostic and differentiation of the various maladies I
observed in the clinic setting. In response to what I observed, I developed tactics and strategy,
and constantly re-assessed and updated my treatment protocol as changes occurred and
updated needs were presented.
EDUCATION:
2009 Utah Valley University Orem, UT
Bachelors of Accounting GPA: 3.6
I returned to school in the Spring of 2007 to pursue an accounting degree. I discovered
through my evolving student experience that I would be equally suited to a general
accounting or an auditing/analyst type career. I had many of the well-rounded skills already
built-in from past jobs and life experience. I would especially like to be involved in the
variance analysis and budgeting aspects of a management control system. I graduated from
UVU on May 1, 2009.
2001 The International Institute of Chinese Medicine Albuquerque, NM
Master of Oriental Medicine Acupuncture and Herbology GPA: 3.4
I received my Master of Oriental Medicine degree in April of 2001, after four years of
intensive study in acupuncture and herbal medicine. Toward the conclusion of my studies, in
the Summer of 2000, I interned at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing, China, as
well as the Chengdu University Hospital in Chengdu, China.
RELATED COURSEWORK:
I am a member of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma.
PERSONAL:
As a 30-something I offer a more mature perspective to the job equation than most
entry-level applicants, while simultaneously being able and willing to flex my humble muscle

and bushy-tailed, and you will find I am pleasant and eager to please.
I possess a skill in writing that is fresh and creative. I am able to convey ideas clearly, and
my detail-oriented personality shows in the thoroughness of my reports.
