Senior Product Support Engineer 2008-Present

Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities for several assembly lines that produce precision

pressure switches and gauges used in food processing, petroleum and other industrial applications.

Partnered with the marketing and design engineering groups to simplify product offerings

and introduce new designs that strengthen the manufacturing process and product portfolio.

Redesigned high pressure switch housings to a 1 pc construction that eliminated 3 welding

operations and simplified assembly resulting in a UMC reduction of $20 per unit allowing

Ashcroft to competitively bid in new markets.

Designed a new mining respirator pressure switch to replace a competitor’s product offering

that was failing in the field resulting in a $250,000 annual contract for Ashcroft Inc.

Evaluated return products for process improvements resulting in changes that eliminated an

ongoing cosmetic problem in one of our OEM switch lines reducing our returns from 22% to

less than 2%

Purchased and managed the installation of capital equipment used for manufacturing,

assembly and testing of pressure gauges and switches.

Introduced a new, safer testing method for Hipot (High Potential) and IR (Insulation

Resistance) testing of switches on assembly line.

development group to suppliers. Redesigned LLI to reduce cost by $1,300 per unit.

– Lightweight CR Cassette product line in response to customer feedback.

Implemented cost reductions through redesign and supply changes.

– Eliminated Work in Process (WIP), reducing area footprint by 35%.

– Co-developed a lower cost carbon fiber panel with Japanese supplier, resulting in

30% reduction in UMC with an annual saving exceeding $1.2 million.

– Collaborated with commodity manager, to reduce US supplier base by over 60%

resulting in an overall reduction in overhead and part cost.

Managed project with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) company (Lexmark) to

customize a product for referral printing by Medical Professionals. Consulted on

modifications for production resulting in reduced lead time to get product to market and a

significant reduction in production costs.

Managed transfer of domestic manufacturing supplier to Malaysian supplier base, reducing

annual cost by $1,500,000.

Granted patent on 1/24/04 for design improving the reliability of Medical X-ray Cassettes.
