this new era of business. At Group Trigger I help uncover what is remarkable about a business and help

DirectPointe – Vice President Marketing and Products Lindon, Utah November 2007 – Current Consultant
DirectPointe faced a challenge of creating a comprehensive messaging strategy with an eight ye ar operating
history and a recent spree of diverse acquisitions. Their heavy direct sales tradition was skeptical at what good
marketing could do to capture more profitable customers by bette r understanding their markets. By capturing
critical market and customer data points, repositioning the messaging and executing successful marketing
campaigns I was able to give marketing some space within the organization and provide a tangible ROI.
Increased marketing revenues from 5% to 90% of total revenue through successful messaging, PR and SEO

Delivered market and customer research to profile and target their most profitable customer archetype
Sweet Spot Solutions – CEO and Co-Founder Mesa, Arizona March 2003 – November 2007
Sweet Spot is a software start-up that pioneered and patented software applications on USB flash memory for
secure network authentication and encryption. DirectPointe acquired Sweet Spot in 2007. Sweet Spot faced all the
core marketing challenges of a start-up including initial market research, opportunity identification, brand creation,
messaging strategy and content creation. I was successful in each stage by raising $ 4 million from initial investors,
creating buzz through media, events and partners, generating revenue from customers and then the final
acquisition; all in less than five years.
Co-Founded company and led team through company lifecycles: from concept to product to acquisition
Established strategy, positioning and marketing messaging through advertising, PR, Web & events
Invented innovative secure authentication products documented in two US and International patents
Home Market – Founder Seattle, Washington March 2002 – March 2003
Home Market is an Internet portal focused on localized real estate listings and related community contributed
content. The business plan had real estate brokers sponsor local zip codes in exchange for being the exclusi ve agent
representative for real estate listings in that territory. Home Market was an early web 2.0 model that had the right
market and strategy, but the wrong technology tool set for its time that did not properly scale.
Funded and created complete business plan, corporate identity and beta product development
Facilitated in-depth market research analysis to assess product viability and market demand
Developed business relationships and support from initial sponsors and customers
Sprint – Manager: National Accounts Seattle, Washington July 1999 – March 2002
My role at Sprint was to lead a team to salvage a deteriorating relationship with one of their top ten revenue
generating Fortune 100 clients. The relationship was so poor the clien t was behind over a year on paying their $1.5
million monthly invoices. I worked diligently with both the matrix organization of the client and the matrix
organization within Sprint to uncover what the core breakdowns were in the relationship and creat e the proper
solutions to remedy them. I then worked to position our new found successes with the executive management of
both organizations in such a way that the relationship restored its health. The net proof of my success was signing
a new contract that expanded the relationship.
Led teams to negotiate and close multi-year, $30+ million contract with a top Fortune 100 client
Achieved consistent performance measurement within top 15% of entire organization
