Designed digital circuits using FPGA (using VHDL), BUS LVDS, Analog Devices DSPs, TFT screens, Touch
panel, and an interface to a Pentium based Single Board computer. Perform system integration with software and
hardware. Responsible for board layout, fabrication, and testing.
Supervise the design of the analog section of the Relay Test Set.
Completed compliance (CISPER / EMI) and thermal design improvements and testing for the Relay test set.
Develop project schedules, supervise contractors and perform supervisory duties over multiple employees.

Responsible for designing and developing a Xilinx FPGA based eight-channel IR controller (using VHDL), which
included a CPU and SRAM interface.
Responsible for gathering requirements, designing and testing a TI DSP based 6211(150Mhz) for a pharmacy
automation customer. Design utilized Ethernet, isolated RS232 and RS422 ports, and reset circuitry. Wrote CPLD
glue logic and supervised contract mechanical engineering in designing of the enclosure. Responsible for board
layout, fabrication, and testing.
For existing board, developed manufacturing test station architecture. Selected LabView and worked with contract
engineering to develop test set physical appearance

Responsible for the designed of a multi-voltage JTAG repeater pod using LVDS, CPLD (using VHDL), and
regulators. Supervised contract mechanical engineering in designing of the enclosure.
Responsible for the design of two synchronous buck power converters for a quad TI DSP and quad Power PC
boards. Responsible for board layout, fabrication, and testing.
Responsible for the design of a modular power converter with EMI filtering, redundant power sources, and various
other circuits for a switching rack.

Led a cross-functional team responsible for the definition and redesign of a system power supply.
Duties included system power distribution and grounding development, schedule development, customer and
management presentations, development cost management, design to cost, and technical over sight of the
design effort. The power supply assembly included five printed wiring boards and a rigid flex.
Additional responsibility included design and layout of a triple output power supply assembly and definition of the
system battery.
The cross-functional team included electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, quality engineering, reliability
engineering, system engineering, test equipment engineering, and manufacturing engineering.
