Graphic Design and Prepress

evaluate film transparencies, color mark up, and proofs; pre-flight; perform press checks; create

Supervision

• Supervise 11 graphic artists, designers and print production staff for catalog publishers, advertising

agency, prepress houses, and marketing departments

• Revise all job descriptions and positions, adding growth potential for the print production department

of a catalog publisher with an annual revenue over $150 million

Project Management

For national prepress, catalog publishing companies and the United States Air Force, was responsible for

the following elements of print publishing:

• Create, oversee, and meet internal and external print production schedules and procedures

• Recommend, review, and monitor over $15 million in separation and printing budgets annually

• Bid, select, and negotiate contracts with color houses for prepress services, separation, procure print,

bindery, and mail services, and paper

• Act as a liaison between in-house departments and vendors, and establish and implement prepress

guidelines with separators and printers

• Create and implement corporate naming conventions, filing systems and determine graphic database

organization for over 100,000 photos, 35,000 illustrations, and 12,000 catalog pages and manage all

digital assets

• Maintain project specifications, formats, and production changes and re-design catalog styles, formats,

fonts, photography on a rotating schedule

• Perform quality assurance check on layouts and digital files, color, and press proofs

• Plan, implement and maintain procedures for a 50-employee creative department’s element of the

corporate Disaster Recovery Plan

• Review and verify services performed to create client invoices totaling over $20 million per year and

billable time reports for 20 employee

For a national engineering firm’s web site development project was responsible for the following project

• Bid, select, and negotiate contract with web design company for re-design of www.bnflinc.com and

www.bngamerica.com

• Recommend, review, and monitor the $100,000 budget and 3.5 month schedule
