Experience
Worked as CAD ENGINEER in SDS (Swamy Design Solutions) Pvt. Ltd, for 1 year
from July 2006 to June 2007. My role was to design Pro/E models of the industrial
components such as Push in Fit, In-line valves, Solar lantern housing body, End cap of
solar drum etc,. I was in a team of six people and I had a lot of responsibilities as I had to
design and draft number of components than other team members. Moreover, I had the
responsibility of checking the drawings of all the team members before submitting it to
my team lead and finalizing.
Projects I worked in
Project Name : Push in Fit.
Client : Lincoln Helios (India) LTD
Description : Push in fittings is used in automated lubrication or general
lubrication products. This system is used to connect compressor
and the nozzle pipe of the lubricating system and the
component looks like bend tube.
Tool Used : Pro/Engineer Wildfire 3
Role : Part Modeling and Drafting
Project Name : In-line Valves.
Client : Lincoln Helios (India) LTD
Description : In-line Valves are used in heavy duty pumps products. This
system is used to control the rate of flow of liquids and the
component is of circular shape.
Tool Used : Pro/Engineer Wildfire 3
Role : Part Modeling and Drafting
Project Name : Solar Lantern Housing body.
Client : TATA BP Solar
Description : This component is used as housing body for the component of
solar Lantern. This component is of circular shape and all the
components of solar lantern are assembled inside the body.
Tool Used : Pro/Engineer Wildfire 3
Role : Part Modeling and Drafting
Project Name : End Cap of Solar Drum
Client : TATA BP Solar
Description : This component is used to cover two ends of the water storage
device in solar water heating system. This component is of
circular shape and fitted at the both end of the drum.
Tool Used : Pro/Engineer Wildfire 3
Role : Part Modeling and Drafting
Six months internship program at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd at Helicopter division
Bangalore, India from Jan 2006 – June 2006. The project was entitled as “Suggestion for
Improved Plant Layout of Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Final Assembly Hangar.”
The project was based on the redesigning of the existing plant layout by using AutoCAD
software in order to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the layout.
Masters projects
Thermal Stress Analysis of COPPER POST WITHOUT RDL (Re-Distribution
Layer)It’s a silicon chip involving three materials namely Silicon, Solder material and Plastic
substrate. For this model we had to do the structural analysis which involved the deflections
due to the thermal stresses. We had to compare the numerical results with the analytical one.
This involved the following steps.
Building the FEA model using ANSYS
Assigning the material properties
Creating the mesh
Applying the loads, boundary conditions and finally solving
Stress Analysis of a JEDC Board
Here, in this project I had to determine the maximum stress the circuit board can
withstand when it is dropped. These boards are usually used in cell phones. Hence this
analysis becomes helpful as the cell phones are subjected to lot of manhandling. By
conducting this analysis we can know the life of the board and the maximum stress it can
withstand. This project also involved ANSYS and the procedures are pretty much same as the
above project except for detailed boundary conditions.
Analysis of Thermal Conductivity in a Silicon chip
In this project I had to determine the thermal conductivity of the silicon chip
mounted on a PCB. The silicon material starts deforming after certain temperature.
The main task was to determine the maximum temperature for the safe working of the
board. This project also involved ANSYS and the procedures are pretty much same as the
above project except for detailed boundary conditions.
