Interactive TV Web Developer (December 2007 – February 2009)

Architected and developed user-facing software for a system that provides video on-demand and other interactive television services for upscale

hotels around the world. System used an embedded browser (Opera) and modern web services technologies in a three-tier architecture to deliver

high-definition video content and flexible, customizable guest services. Technologies used included JavaScript, AJAX, XML, CSS, MySQL,

and Java-based web services libraries. Also served as the organization’s primary webmaster for public-facing corporate website.

America’s Test Kitchen, Publisher of Cook’s Illustrated Magazine Brookline, MA

Manager of IT Development (February 2007 – December 2007)

In addition to former duties as a developer (see below), managed several employees and contractors and served as primary technical resource for

Global Interactive Qualifying Project (Junior Project) in Bangkok, Thailand (January 2000 - February 2000)

Surveyed over 400 villagers and conducted 9 focus group interviews as part of a diverse team of researchers, language translators and native-

speaking data collectors. Analyzed collected data to determine the effects of village relocation on three Northern Thai communities. The

analysis focused on various factors such as economic standing, social interaction, religious participation. Presented information in oral and

written form to business and government officials for use in future relocation projects. (3 course equivalent)

Computer Science Major Qualifying Project (Senior Project) in Silicon Valley, CA (January/February 2001)

Developed a software application as part of a team for New Focus, Inc., a laser and optics company in San Jose, CA. Designed the software to

communicate with a series of test and measurement devices in order to allow scientists at New Focus to graphically model the behavior of the

laser output. The graphical models will be used to develop the next generation of New Focus’s tunable laser systems. (3 course equivalent)
