Manage an independent consulting practice (sole proprietor) developing and implementing compensation programs,
including executive compensation design, job descriptions, job evaluations, salary ranges, internal and external salary
comparisons as well as performance management design. Clients included, but not limited to, Ryder Transportation
Systems, Sunglass Hut, Mayors Jewelers, American Red Cross, Vitas Healthcare, and a number of financial and credit
institutions.

Global Compensation Manager
Directed a staff of six executing the compensation programs for approximately 4,000 shoreside and 40,000 shipboard
employees with over $1 billion in total global payroll. Designed, developed and delivered domestic and international
total pay programs including base compensation, incentive & bonus plans, equity plans and executive compensation.
Report to both Chief HR Officer and VP Corporate Human Resources. Major responsibilities included:
• Provided leadership to compensation team for the interpretation and implementation of global pay policies,
programs and processes for merit, bonus, incentives and equity plans.
• Managed compensation compliance issues, policy development and implementation of new compliance
policies to meet multi-state, federal and international collective bargaining agreements.
• Consulted with business unit leaders to establish appropriate compensation plans and policies for the business
unit while ensuring alignment with overall policies and business objectives. Provided competitive analyses,
and interpretation.
• Set strategic compensation direction and philosophy with senior management. Provided alternatives to
traditional compensation programs, e.g., career banding and market price job evaluation method.
• Led cross-functional team of in-house Legal, Tax, Accounting and external consultants for the design,
implementation and delivery of executive compensation programs. Prepared reports and related materials for
the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
• Participated in cross-functional team as the compensation subject matter expert in the negotiation of collective
bargaining agreements for shipboard employees.
