BIGBAND NETWORKS

Senior Manager Software Quality Assurance - Westborough, MA 2005 – May 2008

Managed an organization responsible for the qualification Bigband’s CMTS (Cuda 12000) and IPTV (MSP2000)

product offerings. Responsibilities included process improvement, strategic planning, schedule planning, identifying and

tracking resource needs, overseeing the development of test plans, and tracking and driving test execution.

Managed both functional and automation test teams responsible for the qualifications of Bigband’s Voice and Data

CMTS product.

Initiated and developed a method for gathering customer profile information to enhance operational test coverage for

the Cuda product line. This allowed us to define and implement a test environment to more closely align with our

customer’s operational environments.

Managed functional test team responsible for the qualification of Bigband’s IPTV product.

Defined and implemented many test processes, as part of BigBand Networks’ Product Life Cycle Process, in

compliance with TL9000 standards. Provided process training for SQA team in the preparation for our TL9000

audit, which resulted in receiving TL9000 certification in November of 2007 with zero non-conformance and zero

observations.

Participate as an internal auditor for ongoing process improvement efforts associated with TL9000.

Facilitated tool improvements related to managing and tracking progress of releases as well as providing data for

future process improvements.

Successfully completed the qualification of new product releases on time and within budget while absorbing many

software and hardware delays. At times managed multiple releases simultaneously.

LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES

Director / Manager Software Quality Assurance - Westford, MA 2001 – December 2004

Managed an organization responsible for the qualification and documentation of Lucent’s Multiservice Switch product

offerings (B-SDTX9000, CBX500, CBX3500 and GX550) providing ATM, Frame Relay (FR), Circuit Emulation (CE)

and IP carrier-class networking. Responsibilities included strategic planning, schedule planning, identifying and

tracking resource needs, overseeing the development of test plans, and tracking and driving test execution.

Merged two independent test organizations into one, reducing the time needed for knowledge ramp-up, which

resulted in a more cohesive approach to the qualification of products while reducing the test cycle time

Managed the successful transition of test operations to our overseas facility in Bangalore, India, which resulted in an

overall reduction in operational cost

Defined and implemented a System Test process in compliance with ISO9000 and TL 9000 standards, which

resulted in the passing of the ISO 9000 2003 audit with zero non-conformance and zero observations

Directed the design and development of test tools that were used by the functional test groups

Built and managed a functional test group for CB9000 chassis switching and routing products, support protocols such as

Built a team of ten engineers by hiring a mix of principal, senior and junior engineers

Managed the initial emergence of automation for this product line. Automation of SNMP and CLI testing allowed

retesting of these areas multiple times throughout the release, ensuring regression has not occurred between bug-fix

Manager - Software - Quality Engineering 1994 – 1997

Managed Functional Test for CB2500/CB6000 Switching and Routing products. Testing encompassed Ethernet, Token

Ring and FDDI technologies as well as the Spanning Tree protocol and routing protocols IP, IPX, AT, OSPF, and RIP.

Also, supervised the test efforts for the CB5000 Embedded Network Management products and ensured that

functionality consisting of RMON, SNMP, and CLI were comprehensively tested and released on schedule.

Principal Software Product Engineer 1993 – 1994

Managed the activities of several contractors and full-time employees during the qualification effort for Chipcom's new

Oncore Switching Hub Distributed Management Module (DMM). Prepared resource requirements, project plans, and

handled all project-related issues for product testing.

Defined and implemented processes used for releasing and tracking code revisions

Coordinated the development of step-by-step test procedures used for testing Management Module software

Senior Software Product Engineer 1991 – 1993

Developed test plans and provided qualification for Chipcom’s Ethernet repeater modules, along with the qualification of

Chipcom’s Ethernet Management software.

Developed automated tests using C-Shell scripts for the validation of SNMP management, providing a repeatable

and deterministic set of test cases, which increased quality by ensuring testing consistency from release to release

JUPITER TECHNOLOGY, INC., WALTHAM, MA 1987 – 1991

Quality Assurance Supervisor/Customer Service Manager 1990 – 1991

Directed the development and implementation of test plans for all of Jupiter’s products, both hardware and software,
