Summary Integrated factory control systems for new and existing food plant, administered a SQL
Server Database for plant wide ingredient batching process. Supplied food plant
information for easy access for management. Improved casting process at DaidoMetal,
efficiency increased allowing costly overtime production to stop, while improving the
quality of the aluminum strip. Designed an Electronic Motor Control Module for HVAC
industry, still in production.
Experience Electrical Engineer (2008 to present) DaidoMetal in Bellefontaine, Ohio
Programmed an aluminum casting line using PID Loops and PLC logic, improving the
process so much that operators didn’t have to work Saturday overtime and lowered the
amount of labor on each foot of aluminum produced. Since this aluminum supplied the rest
of the plant, overall efficiency improved. Trouble-shooted all electrical and programming
problems lowering downtime.
Controls Engineer (2005 to 2009) IAC/Lear in Sidney, Ohio
Improved efficiency with PLC programming, design operator interfaces with Visual Basic
saving the company money, designed safety circuits for safe work operation for employees,
Created operator interfaces with PanelView, CTC, and RSView.
Programmer (1999 to 2005) Esser Electric (Cargill) in Sidney, Ohio
Integrated Factory Automation Controls for new and existing food plants. Provided vital
plant information for company employee’s for decision making. Created process
controls for ingredient batching for food production. Administered SQL Server
Database, creating tables, stored procedures and backups for the plant. Maintained
the plants Ethernet Lan. Set up Citrix thin clients and MS Terminal Server for plant
employee’s. Improved processes with Bubble diagrams documenting the process, then
implementing it with PLC Ladder Logic.
Electronics (1981 to 1999) Copeland Corporation Research Lab in Sidney, Ohio
Designed a temperature and miss-wiring electronic control protection module for 3 phase
motors in HVAC compressors. Designed and layed out printed circuit boards for
production, designing and testing for EMI noise suppression.
