EXPERIENCE

Projects

The application of configuration spaces in the risk control

model of selection of stocks investment, summer 2009

University of Rochester, Rochester, NY

Build up a graph to represent the relation of different sectors of current stock

market. After statistic analysis the money flow between different sectors, define

the direction of the edge in the graph.

After analyzing the configuration space of above graph with the distance

between any two points no less than a fixed number D, we can give all

possible combination investment in the stock market with controlling the risk

under some low level.

Given certain risk level, we will try to find the minimum D to make our

investment be more flexible.

Application of configuration spaces in robot motion design,

spring 2006

University of Rochester, Rochester, NY

Set up mathematics model for the robots motion problems by using the paths

in configuration spaces to identify the robots motion

For special selected spaces, analyzed the fundamental groups of the

configuration spaces

Used the fundamental groups structure to design the robot motion to avoid

collision

at any time

Research Assistant, 2004-2009

University of Rochester, Rochester, NY

Finished several research topics in analysis of the configuration space of some

singular spaces including the homotopy type, fundamental groups and

cohomology

Applied configuration spaces of singular spaces in the Economics social choice

model

Developed topological method to the study of phase transition in statistical

mechanics

Using Markov Chain Monte Carlo for sampling the configuration space of finite

atomic systems in some singular spaces
