EXPERIENCE

2007 to 2009 – Production and Sourcing Manager for The Row, New York, NY. My

responsibilities included product development with both domestic and overseas vendors. All

production including garment development, fit, costing, fabric purchasing, trim buying, barcode

spreadsheets. Negotiate price quotes with factories. Coordinating deliveries from the mills to the

forwarder to customs. Work with AIMS and Excel. Responsible for patternmaking, grading,

marking, cutting, sewing and follow up at factories. Over sees shipping and receiving, inventory.

Invoice approval…. Production tracking…. Piece goods control…. Purchase Orders. Develop and

maintain block specs and block patterns. Daily communication with overseas and domestic

agents/vendors and merchants. Involved with product development projects such as quality

control, fit studies, spec and grading evaluation. Organize work flow in the department and

maximize utilization of personnel.

2005 to 2007 - Technical Designer, Casual Male Retail Group, Canton, MA - My responsibilities

included developing and maintaining block specs and building a library of block patterns.

Measure, fit and evaluate samples, develop accurate technical packages for vendors. Daily

communication with overseas agents/vendors and merchants. Involved with product development

projects such as quality control, fit studies, spec and grading evaluation, development of fit forms,

hiring fit models and organizing and conducting fit sessions. Proficient with web based PLM and

CAD systems. Organize work flow in the department and maximize utilization of personnel.

Promoted to Production Manager for Jared M division in New York City where I was responsible

for foreign and domestic sourcing, product development, including costing, technical design, and

quality control. Assisted in developing line plans.

1990-2005 - Technical Designer/CAD Supervisor – Mass State Coat Company, Hyde Park, MA -

Manufacturer of men’s and women’s coats and suits for private labels including Hart Schaffner

and Marx and Joseph Abboud. Hired, trained and supervised twelve product development

personnel. Responsible for technical design, product costing and improving production methods

and procedures, while implementing cost cutting measures. Responsible for pattern making with

the use of PDS (Pattern Design System). Worked with customers to achieve proper fit and quality

requirements using PDM.

- Technical Designer/Patternmaker/Production – KGR, Lawrence, MA - Manufacturer

1987.1990

of knit and woven women’s apparel. Our accounts included Talbots, Nordstroms and

Dillards. Was hired in a duel capacity as a technical designer/patternmaker and

production manager. Made pre-production patterns and coordinated the sample

department. Methods included both flat pattern and draping. Involved with fittings,

made pattern corrections using PDS. Oversaw pattern grading, marking and cutting.

1983 -1987 - Technical Designer/Patternmaker/CAD – Mast Industries, Andover, MA - This is the

manufacturing division of The Limited. Involved with patternmaking, sampling and fittings for knits

and wovens. Adjusted patterns for proper fit and finalized patterns for production. Made pattern

adjustments to achieve maximum fabric utilization. Had additional responsibility for costing the

product. Calculated the most beneficial yardage yields. Worked with the mills to configure various

fabric widths to achieve maximum utilization. Made recommendations to the product managers

regarding cost effective methods of product preparation and assembly. Resolved problems and

improved methods.

1980 -1983 - Patternmaker/Technical Designer/CAD Systems, Personal Sportswear and

Breckenridge Sportswear, Divisions of Leslie Fay, New York, NY - As a patternmaker, was

involved with fittings and applying fit data to the flat pattern. Oversaw grading and marking.

Responsible for costing and maintaining data for each model. Coordinated the order of input and

oversaw job flow.
