PROJECTS
Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas
- Competent in conducting simulation studies and empirical studies as demonstrated by Master’s
Project, An Application of Neural Networks to the Pricing and Hedging of Equity Options. Project
investigates whether Neural Networks are capable of estimating the Black-Scholes option pricing
formula. Also, it compares the performance of Neural Networks to the Black-Scholes formula using
historical data from options on the S&P 500 index.
- Served as team leader for a team of graduate students working to solve a data mining problem for the
SAS Data Mining Shootout competition in October 2009. Project used weather and soil data to build
models to predict crop production. The results are used to make decisions about where to build an
ethanol plant in the United States.
- Experienced in statistical consulting as a member of the Department of Statistics Consulting Center.
Assisted with an assortment of Texas A&M University graduate students’ research projects:
designed experiments and surveys, decided on necessary statistical analysis, ran and coded
statistical tests in R, SAS, SPSS, and STATA, and interpreted statistical results.
