WORK EXPERIENCE

Mar 2007 – Current: Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group

Main responsibilities: leading client teams and BCG team members in strategic and change

management projects. Activities included developing and presenting multiple presentations to

clients' Management Boards and Steering Committees, developing and facilitating workshops

and trainings, conducting interviews and performing data analyses. Main achievements:

1. Leading a large senior client team identifying all fte-related savings in a cost reduction

project. The measures identified accumulate to € 30 million.

2. Leading an M&A review and assisting in the implementation of the recommendations.

3. Strategic assessment on disease management and on hospital performance improvement.

4. Reviewing the project portfolio and developing a project selection process.

5. Successfully implementing a progress monitoring tool, and guiding the Works Council

approval process in a post-merger integration (PMI).

2002 – Feb 2007: Employed by ICI Plc, Uniqema Division

Oct 2004 – Feb 2007: Product Marketing Manager Fatty Acids & Soap Europe–Gouda, NL

Main responsibility: profitability of the Fatty Acids and Soap product ranges in Europe, with a total

annual sales value of € 85 million. For this, I was responsible for managing the portfolio, new

product introductions, product pricing and improving the product mix on the manufacturing assets.

Main achievements:

1. Turnaround of the Soap business in Europe by ensuring close cooperation between sales,

technical service and operations, resulting in improved profitability, quality and reliability.

2. Development and successful implementation of a new Fatty Acids strategy in the face of

aggressive Asian competition.

Jan 2005 – Aug 2006: Factory Closure Project team member, Commercial Lead

Closure of a manufacturing facility in Europe, and transfer of its production capability to Malaysia.

I jointly developed the business case and was solely responsible for execution of the commercial

implementation of the project, resulting in an annual saving of € 1 million.

Dec 2003 – Sep 2004: Product Analyst, Marketing Europe – Gouda, NL

Main responsibilities and achievements:

1. Leading a cross-functional team responsible for the restructuring of the European product

portfolio, by focusing on significant growth potential and a more profitable price structure.

2. Setting up a pricing process for the European region and a system to track product offers.
