Duties/Responsibilities:
Working on a Flex application which will be used by state and county employees to schedule reservations at their
parks and other recreational facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead development of Document Management for the entire platform which comprises of couple of web based Flex
Applications. Develop bridging applications between client based, already existing applications and the web platform.
• Developed an AIR app which connects to the server periodically, retrieves and print PDF reports on client side

Team Lead, WV Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) for Higher Education Facilities Information
System (HEFIS) project April 2005 to March 2008
Duties/Responsibilities:
Expand the usability of the HEFIS system by understanding and developing what the customers need in order to do
their job more efficiently and to make modules which will take care of reporting functions the HEPC performs for the
legislature and the governor’s office
• Designed and lead the development of MVC architectured enterprise applications using ColdFusion and Flex
for the state higher education institutions
• Followed best practices and design patterns by developing object oriented code through the use of
ColdFusion Components (CFCs), components, and custom events
• Used eXtreme Progamming methodology for Rapid Application Development along with UML in a team of 4
developers
• Adopted an Event driven loosely coupled component architecture for Flex development design
• Maintained the code base on Subversion (SVN) and used Eclipse IDE with SVN for team development
• Followed the philosophy of write the tests before the code by developing tests using CFUnit and other
automated testing software like Selenium
• Developed ColdFusion application to convert Google’s Geo Lat Long coordinate system to WV GIS’s UTM

Team Lead for Higher Education Facilities Information System (HEFIS) project, which in its initial stages was
run at West Virginia University funded by the Chancellor’s office April 2003 to April 2005
Duties/Responsibilities and Accomplishments:
Design of an efficient database, which can hold the facilities information (Buildings & Rooms & Vehicles & Housing)
and course schedule information of all higher education institutions in the state of West Virginia. Development of a
website with the ability to search, make real time alterations and output reports at institutional and HEPC levels.
• Designed an MS Access database with user-friendly forms (developed in VBA) for data population, to be used
by the data acquisition team
• Developed the application to interlink the course information with facilities information to get a wide variety of
useful utilization reports and graphs at different levels
• Migrated multiple Access database files and merged into a single Oracle database

• Added code to Internet Service Desk pages to let ISD users go into the HEFIS site and see the
schedules, drawings and/or reports
• Enabled ISD users to add, edit or delete buildings and rooms in the HEFIS database
• Migrated two TMA databases from an SQL Server to Oracle9i using TMA’s e-tools and Oracle Migration
Workbench
• Saved $125,000 annually to physical plant budget by reducing TMA user’s time by connecting them to
a wealth of HEFIS information on a single interface

Thesis Related Works
• Used Crystal Reports 9 to plot graphs to depict the failure of a composite material on application of tensile
load. The source data for the graph was an excel file made by a data acquisition system named LOCAN AT
• Wrote four independent AWK scripts for converting experimentally collected raw data into an input matrix to a
neural network program. To relieve future users from possessing the knowledge of syntax to call AWK scripts,
developed a C program that takes experimental inputs from user, calls relevant AWK scripts, passes variables to
them and saves the output neural network matrix by a name specified by the user
• Worked with Wireless Sensor Networks using MICA MOTES hardware and TINYOS operating system and
applications like TINYDB and TASK

• Applied for a Patent for the method created to show layers on pdf floor plans based on the room types,
utilization hrs and mapping equipment on to floor plans
