Initial challenge: reconcile six month’s worth of un-reconciled financial data to the creation of financial

statements and close off financial year. Initial and future challenges: strengthen accounting/operational

functions, and implement/maintain financial controls. Position manages staff of 5 responsible for A/R, A/P,

Payroll, Cost Accounting, and Purchasing/Procurement. Position reported directly to Board of Directors.

Key Accountabilities & Accomplishments

● Manage month-end/year-end close and financial statement preparation. Analyze balance sheets, P&L, cash

flows, and budget variances. Assist operational managers to resolve variances.

● Support corporate and divisional strategic planning efforts through forecasting and operational/capital budget

development activities. Implement budgets and ongoing financial forecasting for growth purposes.

● Manage physical inventory ($2 million combined value) and review for obsolescence, movement, and

valuation.

● Multi-Currency Management – Trades and Sales. Maintained, on average, 25 percent return on EUR and

GBP Investments.

● Establish and maintain credit/collection policies; review and manage divisional banking and lending

relationships. Supervised and audited daily bank account reconciliations for 9 cash accounts.

● 401k Trustee – implement new plan for cost savings of 50 percent.
