To whom it may concern:
My name is Jaison Guglielmi. I am a senior at Towson University majoring in Computer
Information Systems with a minor in Business. Currently, I am finishing out my major with a
concentration on networks and data security as well as a minor in business. Having completed course work
related to C++ and JAVA programming, enterprise integration, and soon networking and data security, I
am seeking an opportunity which will challenge me and put to use my various experiences and talents. The
goal of any employee should be to work smarter and quickly under the confines of deadlines and
presentations. In any business, it is important to not only sell your ideas, but it is also important to
communicate them in an effective manner. Dealing with my work at the American Family Life Assurance
company of Columbus, I have witnessed the top AFLAC insurance office in America rise providing
assistance via computer troubleshooting and data security. My services to the company went beyond being
a clerical intern, but they included in depth work with databases, cloud computing, data entry, and devising
new methods to maintain and streamline data often under unusual circumstances and pressures from
managers and co-workers.
At AFLAC, I not only am an administrator/intern, I am a member of a close knit team and unit.
My manager had reached the pinnacle of his work reaching the number one spot in the country for
recruiting and the office as a whole placed first in sales in the country not by one individual’s actions, but
by a collective effort of every individual in the office. By helping some of my older colleagues who are not
as tech savvy, I was able to teach them how to properly maintain and care for their computer as well as
process data quickly with the same results cutting their working time in half almost. My abilities with
assisting others and being able to vocalize my thoughts in a clear manner were improved upon as were my
presentation skills from working with my co-workers. Witnessing the business model first hand has
demonstrated the need for such information systems majors. Individuals with little to none of any
computer knowledge must be equipped with at least the fundamentals to adjust to the ever evolving world
of technology.
At Towson University, I am a full-time student with a minimum of 15 credit hours a semester and
am working 30+ hours a week to provide for myself. My courses of study coupled with my own interests
in learning the mechanics of how things work allows me to adapt to new situations. What relevance can I
contribute to a company’s growth and increase profit margins? What can I do to grow your business
through tough economic times? The answer lies not with who has the most degrees, the most experience,
or the most knowledge. The answer is who is willing to put forth the effort, go the extra mile, and
implement that knowledge or experience. Who is more adaptable to a changing environment where it is
literally the survival of the fittest? While reviewing my resume, I am looking forward to your questions
and I am looking forward to working with you and your company. Thank you for taking the time to review
my resume.
