Professional Experience
Delphi Corporation 1992 - Present
Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326 Contract Engineer 1989 - 1992
Currently employed with Delphi Corporation as a Project Engineer where I have held numerous
assignments both within their Electronics and Safety division and currently within their Powertrain
division. Chronologically these assignments are as listed:
Diagnostic Control Development Engineer September 2006 – Present
Currently a member of the Diagnostic Algorithm Design Team.
• Accountable for all functional issues related to sensor-related subsystems and the interaction
of the subsystems with the overall Engine Management System software.
• Responsible for re-architecting the Rough Road Sensing Algorithm for improved efficiency
and flexibility.
• Followed EMS design process guidelines and deliverables for specification/model
requirements, calibration guidelines, parameter lists, and test plans.
• Participated in the submission of two Records of Invention.
System Design Engineer October 2001 – August 2006
A member of the Passive Occupant Detection Systems team responsible for GM and Nissan
vehicle platforms.
• Ensure that System Common Process deliverables are completed on time per the project
schedule and meet System Quality Assurance standards.
• Conduct design and peer reviews and supervised release of product calibrations.
• Maintain and release MPI information for product builds.
• Supported Lean Initiatives by integrating calibration activity into the site wide calibration
release process utilizing CAL-DS.
• Developed prototype humidity compensation software with PIC controller tools to understand
humidity compensation strategies.
Resident System Design Engineer August 1997 – September 2001
A resident engineer at Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems and a member of the Independent Test
and Verification Group responsible for Electric Power Steering system and software test activities.
• Developed and executed Functional Test Plans to ensure compliance with customer
generated requirements.
• Implemented testing scripts used to automate system level testing.
• Member of the Thermal Evaluation team and developed methodology to test and record
controller thermal performance.
• Performed liaison activities between Delphi Steering and Delphi Electronics and Safety for
systems related Electric Power Steering controller issues.
• Directed implementation of customer requirements into the steering controller hardware and
software and communicated cost and timing changes back to customer.
• Directed and assisted in Design Validation of Electric Power Steering controllers using
product hardware and software and simulation of vehicle environment.
Electrical System Design Engineer February 1994 - July 1997
Employed as an engineer assigned to assist Delphi Chassis Systems and a member of the
Electrical Systems group responsible for Antilock Braking System issues with GM midsize vehicle
platforms.
• Developed specifications for a microprocessor based vehicle control system including the
electrical interface, Electronic Control Unit, speed sensing subsystem and wiring
specifications.
• Performed analysis and in-vehicle test to facilitate vehicle control system design, including
voltage drop modeling and serial communication robustness.
• Directed in-vehicle electrical testing, analyzed vehicle test data and made recommendations
to improve system performance and reliability.
• Interfaced with customers and suppliers on vehicle electrical and sensor issues.
• Designed wire harnesses for special applications and vehicle builds.
Algorithm Design Engineer January 1989 - January 1994
Employed as an engineer assigned to assist Delphi Chassis Systems and a member of the
Diagnostic Controls group responsible for Anti-Lock Brake System diagnostic implementation and
testing for GM Saturn vehicle platform.
• Designed software to perform the active self-test of a microprocessor based vehicle control
system that used specialized sensors and actuators to prevent wheel lockup during braking.
• Analyzed the vehicle electrical and mechanical system design in order to provide for
detection and isolation of failure modes in real time.
• Analyzed the characteristics of the Electronic and Hydraulic Control Unit to determine the
input and feedback values that indicate a fault has occurred.
• Developed software specifications using structured analysis techniques and Cadre’s
Teamwork CASE tool.
• Developed and coded validation test software using 68HC11-assembly language for
temperature chamber test of electro-hydraulic actuator.
