Merkle Mailing Service is a division of Merkle Direct Marketing Inc.
With a reorganization and reduction in overhead while increasing production by implementation of incentive plans was able to
reduce the labor cost with 10% first three months. With the modification of existing equipment and implementation of new
production technology, the productivity was increased with 15%. After one year the company was profitable for the first time
in five years. After one and a half year the company was sold to Direct Group.
FETTER DIRECT INC. 2001 – 2003
Director of Operations
Fetter Direct is a division of Fetter Printing Company. Fetter Direct & Fulfillment was founded in 1998 and had not shown a
profit since inception. My primary responsibility was to provide the expertise and procedures necessary to make this division
profitable.
With a reorganization and reduction in overhead while increasing the number of production employees to reduce outsourcing
of work, was able to reverse the 10% negative cash flow in to a 19% positive within six months, after one year, the production
cost per thousand pieces produced was reduced by 15.5% with a continuing trend in the second year.

Solar Communications is a direct mailing and fulfillment company. Reorganize the unprofitable Perryville, Missouri,
production facility.
Using new management techniques to increase productivity and reduce waste, turned this facility around in two years and
showed a 21% overall profit. The new federal regulations regarding sweepstake marketing forced the company to downsize
from 250 employees to 30.

I started this business as a consulting firm for the Packaging industry in 1989. Clients included Donnelley Printing, Campbell's
Fresh, Rubbermaid and Cello Foil. My services included development of new packaging and solutions for production and
distribution chains. In 1991, I started a production unit utilizing self-designed and patented extrusion molding technique to
produce customized plastic pallets, mushroom growing trays and other items geared toward the shipping industry.
M & W PACKAGING INC. 1988 – 1992

As assistant to the President of their German facility, took on the challenge of starting a green field operation in the US and
was responsible for the site selection.
• Within eighteen months, this campus-style, seven-building complex, was built and in full operation.
• Put all the SPC and TQC procedures in place, which were rewarded with the "Quality Flag from the
American Society of Quality Control" in the first year of operation.
In 1991, we qualified for ISO 9001, with a reject level of >.05%. Our major customer, P&G, increased their orders by 50%.
The fiscal year 1991 closed 10% better than projected. Sales were $35 Million with a positive cash flow of $6 Million.
