Project Controls Manager/Scheduling Lead
During this period I have held consulting positions in the petroleum & chemical,
pharmaceutical, aerospace and power industries. I have utilized P3, Microsoft Project
and Open Plan as the scheduling tools. Also have also done cost engineering work
during this term. This included doing project controls for engineering, procurement and
construction phases of the projects. . I have extensive knowledge of P3, and all MS
office applications. Clients worked for included B & W (Oak Ridge, Tenn. Scheduling
and Cost for DOE Site), WMSM, (Scheduling for Doe Site) Shaw, (Cost engineering for
petro-chem plants) Delta T, (Cost and Scheduling for Ethanol facilities) Sperry Marine,
(Aerospace), Jacobs (Sr. Project Controls Manager) and others. The other jobs were
power and petro-chem. Worked project in size from fifty million to 300 million.

Working for CB&I in Savannah, GA on an LNG facility. I was the project controls
manager but had a scheduler so I did all of the cost work for the project. We utilized J.
D. Edwards cost system.

Working for PSE&G doing cost work for the SMD Division. This included compiling
cost data from various projects and preparing cost reports for senior management
presentation.

Project Controls Manager
Have held numerous short-term assignments for various clients. Worked for W.G. Yates
at Plant Scherer, a Southern Company power plant doing planning and scheduling for a
major expansion. Utilized Primavera P3 for this work. Worked in Boston doing
proposal schedule work, using Primavera P3 and then worked in Raleigh, NC doing
claims work for the IRS & with Jacobs doing claims work on the EPA. Utilized
Primavera P3 for this claims work.
July 2001 – July 2002
Project Controls Manager, Patch Inc. Houston, Texas
Responsible for all project controls functions for the company. This was an engineering,
construction and construction management company that designs and builds gas fired
power plants. 50 – 200 mw. Work includes preparing schedules on SureTrak, Primavera
P3 and Microsoft Project, developing all cost data for senior management and project
management. Provide insight into all project work as it progressed. Provided the
president with all financial data concerning profit and loss for all projects.
August 1992 – June 2001
Area Project Controls Manager, Bechtel Savannah River, Inc.
Initially prepared and implemented an integrated cost and schedule system on hundreds
of site projects. Worked EVMS for the duration of my tenure at the Site. Trained site
personnel on the integrated cost and scheduling systems used on the site. The
Construction Area Project Controls Manager for the High Level Waste Division.
Responsible for all cost, scheduling, budgeting and forecasting of approximately one
hundred-fifty projects dealing with radioactive waste. Utilized Primavera P3 for the
scheduling system. Met with both craft supervision and management to review the
details of the schedules. Held weekly meetings with the craft to review the cost and
productivity status.
August 1991 – August 1992
Construction Project Controls Manager, Bechtel Corporation, Kingsport, Tennessee
Overall responsibility for all construction cost, scheduling budgeting and forecasting for
fifteen to twenty ongoing and new projects. Projects with a value of approximately three
hundred and fifty million dollars. This included replacement of boilers, some other power
generation work and numerous petro-chemical projects on the site. Prepared the
schedules utilizing Primavera P3 program and had from 200 to 3000 activities each. Also
prepared the cost reporting reports for the craft and management for all of the projects.
Continuously met with the owner to review the schedules and cost status of all ongoing
projects.
January 1989 – August 1991
Project Controls Manager, Becon Services, Leesburg, VA (Bechtel affiliate)
Prepared all of the schedules, utilizing Primavera P3 and tracked the costs for numerous
projects in the Washington, DC area. These projects included a 13-story office building
for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, in Laurel, Md., the Army College, in
Washington, D.C., high schools in Virginia, retirement homes in Virginia and numerous
office buildings. Met with the owners on a monthly basis to discuss the schedules and
present and work through the monthly billings.
May 1981 – January 1989
Project Controls Supervisor, Becon Construction Company, Inc., Houston Tx. (Bechtel)
Progressed from senior planner scheduler through Manager of Corporate Planning and
Scheduling to Project Controls Supervisor.
Personally prepared the CPM schedules utilizing Primavera P3 for many different clients.
Worked for clients such as: Oklahoma Gas and Electric, a two-unit power plant, prepared
all the CPM schedules for this work. Worked closely with the craft supervision ensuring
that we had the details of the project on accurately portrayed no the schedules. This job
finished 2 months ahead of schedule due to the detail planning and scheduling
accomplished on the job. Comanche Peak Nuclear facility some small power work.
Houston Light and Power, foundations and underground for their plant in Jewett Texas.
Prepared all of the schedules for this work and finished the job 5 months ahead of
schedule. Many of the projects during this period were petro-chemical. Held weekly
meetings with the craft supervision to ensure that the schedule and the cost requirements
were being met and developed work around schedules as the need arose.
Also worked many petro-chem projects for clients such as Shell, in West Texas and on
the ship channel, Exxon, on the ship channel and in Salt Lake City, Anchuz Ranch, and
Arco, Burrows Welcome & Noramco, pharmaceutical to name a few. Personally prepared
the schedules for all of the work for these clients.
