Maintained SPC checks for an employee owned company producing MEMs & Thin Film Heads.

Wrote Capital Equipment Purchases, operational & maintenance specs & qualed new Equipment

including metrology tools, Auto Inspection Stations, Bake Ovens.

Pulled together a multi-disciplined continuous improvement team across all shifts which improved yields by

12% & reduced cycle time by implementing proactive inspections at key operations.

Managed costs for the new start-up company by using outside contacts and internal employee know how to solve a

robot problem that helped save the company $70K.

Applied my skills to keep equipment running, to layout an ergonomic inspection station, to manage key materials

to keep them in stock and helped provide training & support for key equipment.

Updated and wrote DCOs as required for ISO compliance audits & provided key process controls for

1997-1999 Process Engineer IV MKE Quantum Components, LLC, Shrewsbury, MA

Took over a project to purchase, install, qualify and implement a new manufacturing coat/bake system. Identified

major software problem & worked with vendor so their equipment would meet our acceptance specifications.

Expanded Autoinspection Technology to a 100% networked linked system that gathered SPC data for monitoring

of process issues that could be addressed by yield improvement teams.

1995-1997 Senior Process Engineer Quantum/Digital Equipment Corp. : Shrewsbury, MA

Worked issues on a critical system to uncover the root cause for the low uptime on the equipment. Involved

purchasing, Supervisors, engineers & service technicians to replace the defective machine with a new tool that

had the highest uptime in the facility.

Negotiated discounts from a supplier to reinforce a new relationship and provide a good faith support of a new

robotic system

Introduced the first on-line SPC upload database and implemented the first set of Autoinspection Stations across

plating, photo, and vacuum groups.

Actively participated in a Tiger Task Team to Qual a new metal barrier for the DEC Alpha Chip. This included

hiring and training operators plus producing written process and maintenance documentation.

Hands on work to purchase, install & characterize new equipment – this equipment reduced cycle time for

all Alpha Chip related Product.

1985-1987 Process Manager : Barry Industries : Attleboro, MA

Designed and engineered a PWB/Duroid Plating Line; researched and contracted out electrical, plumbing &

waste treatment needs for contracts to major aerospace & defense firms.

Wrote all procedures & hired and trained operators. Performed external outside source certifications.

1982-1985 Senior Process Engineer : Raytheon : SMDO : Northborough, MA

Hands on Sputtering, Ion Milling, Plating, Photolithography, and Plasma Cleaning work to implement new

manufacturing methods which raised yields from 20% to 98% within the first 12 months & helped reduce costs.

Received secret clearance to work on the Patriot Missile & Stinger program, produced SAW devices, RF couplers

and hybrid packaging. Monitored process using resistivity & profiling tools.

Responsible for all written documentation to meet Mil spec requirements as well as the hiring and training of

operators with my lead supervisor. Designed new FAB layout to improve manufacturability & efficiency.

1979-1982 Senior Process Engineer : GE Datel : Mansfield, MA

Processed thermal oxide wafers in diffusion furnaces for quad switches used in our hybrid converter line.
