Senior Data Architect for the DDI – Financial Data repository application that allows integration of a variety of

factory/golden sources and distributing them to the subscribers in the form of XML messages or DB replication.

Responsible (hands-on as well as managing) for gathering requirements, XML/XSD hierarchical to relational data

conversion, conceptual and logical data modeling, physical database design, metadata management, changed data capture

(CDC) procedures, performance tuning, maintaining metadata repository and building DataMarts (as a part of DW

strategy based on the Kimball’s methodology).

Managed two offshore teams on a variety of projects.

Lead efforts with the best practices and implementing of the data aging processes and practices (as well as Oracle DB

partitioning).

Important objective was a seamless Integration of mortgage, trade, legal entity, financial instruments and external data via

ETL (Ab Initio) and middleware suite of tools (TIBCO). Coordination of TIBCO BW business processes with a variety

Acted as a Lead Architect (hands-on) for Portfolio Analysis & Research Outlook System that contains a variety of early

warning reports created by Market Based Tools (MBT). It is also used by Global Risk Assessment in its sampling

processes to evaluate the consistency of risk ratings on a firm-wide basis. The integrity and completeness of

this review is fundamental to the credibility of the firm's credit capital calculations. In conjunction with Industry and

Client Reviews was developing a Review and Research process that promotes consistency, forward looking reviews and

maximizes efficiency whilst minimizing credit losses and optimizing revenue generation throughout the credit cycle.

Required deep understanding of the complicated financial instruments, such as: EDF, Credit Default Swaps,

CreditGrades, External/internal ratings and grades, Compustat Financial Data etc. Among system highlights:

• Focus on developing insightful, forward looking and actionable credit views.

• Enable Corporate Bankers/ Credit Executives to analyze credit trends and credit “outliers” within a portfolio by

leveraging data and information sources efficiently.

• Apply and leverage risks and drivers identified in the Industry Reviews to assess exposure/capital trends and

For a major insurance company - (AIG 5/00 – 11/00):

Hands-on management of a large-scale data warehouse infrastructure redesign initiative. Major accomplishments include

deployment of multi-server mixed Unix/NT WEB enabled environment with elimination of single points of failure, built-

in scalability, and reliable centralized administration and security. This project is being done using the latest products

from Cognos Suite of tools as well as Java and XML. Migrated multiple systems from being Windows-based only to

being available via Web Portal. Provided interfaces to a variety of Data Marts initiatives within different business groups.

Designed and implemented ETL strategies for Data Marts data load, cleansing, and summarization.

Schwab - (12/97 – 5/00): Managed a major brokerage Data Warehouse initiative. This DW has been successfully

implemented in 1999 and produced significant advantages for analyzing customer relationships and internal indicators,

such as: Trader performance, Broker/correspondent profitability, Market Maker to Market Maker/correspondent

reciprocal analysis, P&L analysis etc. This system became foundation for the new Automated Trading System.

Responsibilities included full project lifecycle, overall business analysis and system architecture, data analysis and multi-

Dimensional modeling, design and development of multidimensional database (cubes), information operational data store

setup and maintenance, development of production process, development of front end using variety of front-end tools.

Development of Installation package for server and client, training of executives, analysts, and users.

Developed and administered several departmental (trading floor) DataMart implementations with Sybase 11 as backend

and Cognos tools and PB 6.0 as front end tools. Was fully responsible for the physical and logical database design,

Sybase installations, data acquisitions and cleansing, reports design and implementation. Developed multidimensional

models and their population procedures. Provided project management and coordination between developers and user

community.

Provided extensive DBA support for the BackOffice System including: resolution of performance and design issues and

on-going support for the front-end developers, backup and tuning strategies, disaster recovery scenarios using Sybase

Compliance System for an SEC Audit. . Presentation Reports were developed using Cognos PowerPlay & PowerBuilder.

Backend was done with Sybase X.

For a major financial organization (Meyer & Schweitzer, NJ 9/97 - 12 /97) developed guidelines,

recommended tools, and conducted benchmark studies for development a DW solution. Implemented prototype Data Mart

solution using Oracle as a Data Store, IBM Visual Warehouse as a middleware/Data Mart repository/data acquisition

scheduler, Cognos tools as desktop datamarts

For a major pharmaceutical company (Warner Lambert, NJ 5/97 –9/97)

Senior Consultant for a Sales and Marketing DW project . Designed and implemented Data Mart solutions for several

departments. Used such tools as Oracle 7.5, Cognos PowerPlay and Impromptu, Oracle Express etc.

For an Internationally known Performing Arts Company (Metropolitan Opera Association,

NY 9/96 – 4/97) developed a full-blown Data Mart solution for all company’s Decision Support System needs. Acted

as a Project Manager and Architect with a full hands-on participation.

Data Warehouse Administrator for a major pharmaceutical company (BristolMyers Squibb

9/95 – 9/96)

This Data Warehousing initiative is one of the biggest attempted in the USA. It utilized integrated Oracle Warehouse

Software, HP hardware, HP Middleware, OLAP technology, Business Objects and Cognos interfaces

JPMorgan 03/1994 - 9/95 Associate (Senior Software Specialist)

Senior member of internal consulting group.

Develop Data Warehouse projects based on the Sybase/Red Brick Data Warehouse technology.

Among the most important tasks:

• Setting up data warehouse environment

• Setting data acquisition component for data warehouse environment

• Developing procedures for maintaining, managing and accessing warehouse data

Team leader for various client-server oriented projects. Full responsibility for many aspects of Sybase Replication

Server Development. This project involved over 200 tables replicating from primary site in NY to the client sites all

over world. Designed, coded, and implemented GUI based front end for the Replication Server. This system was

written in Visual Basic using ODBC and SYBASE SQL Server. The primary purpose of this system is to assist a

Replication Server Administrator in managing various objects of Replication Server.

Bankers Trust Co. 09/1987 - 03/1994 Assistant Vice President (Senior Systems Specialist)

Was a senior member of TRAC development team.

TRAC is a fully integrated on-line inquiry/update system for managing 401K savings and pension plans. This was one of

first ever major systems written using Visual Basic and PowerBuilder as a front end, SQL Server as main DBMS and

CICS/DB2 as a back end. Participated in all stages of the product development: from its conception, feasibility studies,

functional and design specifications and through the implementation and maintenance of several releases.

3/86 - 09/87 Republic National Bank of New York Senior Programmer Analyst

Acted as project leader for the development of Letter of Credit system. Work was done using CICS, COBOL, IMS,

BAL,VSAM. Because of strong BAL, CICS, and debugging skills, acted as a technical consultant to entire staff.

09/1981 - 3/1986 Computer Associates Software Designer

Designed, coded and implemented menu-based system for accessing and using RAMIS II on mainframe from PC

workstation. Wrote over 50 MICROSOFT C modules for PC Front End (PC RAMIS). Mainframe part was written in

BAL. Designed and developed protocol-independent interface to various terminals (BAL, IBM 3270 protocols). Acted as

a systems programmer with responsibility for CICS systems tables
