Aerospace Division

The Thales Group is a leading international electronics and systems supplier to the defense, aerospace and

security markets worldwide. Thales, headquartered in Paris, France employs 68,000 people in 50 counties with

2007 revenues of ~12.3B euros. Thales Avionics Inc. divides the Aerospace Division into three operating

regions which include the Americas, Euro Med and Asia in support of the global marketplace.

Director Supply Chain, Americas

Empowered with direct responsibility for operational performance, profit and loss, revenue contribution and

customer support excellence. Headquartered in Edison, NJ lead a national team of 54 employees located

in Phoenix, Seattle, and Irvine with a $1.6 million operating budget for the Americas. Additionally, function

as an integral part of the executive team to shape and define the supply chain vision and strategic goals

worldwide.

Lead the Americas Supply Chain team delivering optimal performance in order fulfillment to

customers and repair lines while ensuring on time deliveries against contracts and customer

expectations. Deliver operational excellence through the deployment of best practices by

employing Lean and Six Sigma applications. Secure financial performance by proactive inventory

and asset management, drive revenue to achieve targets and utilize discrete cost reduction

methods. Secure international relationships with our parent operation in Toulouse France, as well

as our international OEM customers such as Airbus, ATR and Bombardier. Partner with national

manufacturers Boeing and Lockheed Martin and support government contracts for military

helicopter programs. Provide continuous support to our major airline customers for avionics, in-

flight entertainment equipment, Satcom and electrical motors and components through national

and international direct and indirect value chains.

Achievements

Led an international project team which established and deployed supply chain

operational best practices and implemented those as universal standards. Applied technology

insertion to provide horsepower to internal processes and international logistic operations.

Quick wins resulted in a savings of $240K in the first 90 days.

With our business partner FedEx, established a third party logistics program that

reduced inventory, improved deliverables and saved operating costs of $750K in the first

year.

Intelligence and Information Systems Division

The Intelligence and Information Systems division is a $2.7 billion division of Raytheon a $17.5 billion

corporation headquartered in Waltham, MA with 65,000 employees worldwide. The IIS division is primarily a

software engineering solutions team providing supply chain and integrated logistics products and services.

Director Supply Chain Management

Lead a cross-functional team of twenty-five employees supporting multiple contracts and subcontracts for

NASA’s Satellite Programs, the Army Research Laboratory’s (ARL) High Performance Supercomputing

Program and the Department of Homeland Security’s US VISIT Program.

Drive a $2 million operating budget, a $700 million annual spend and provide leadership and

expertise in all aspects of procurement, distribution / logistics and subcontract management –

with indirect contributions to program management, finance and engineering. Manage

subcontracts of $100M+ value on large scale integration programs, certified in Earned Value

Management (EVMS) principles; Total Quality Management (TQM) practices, risk mitigation,

contribute to all Internal Business Reviews and all Quarterly Business Review Summaries. A

Certified Six-Sigma Specialist having chaired numerous Six-Sigma teams – and serve as

Raytheon’s representative to NASA’s Executive Roundtable. Possess security clearance with

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Secret Clearance with Department of Defense

Achievements

Restructured the subcontracts group and created a dedicated team of problem

resolution specialists and contact managers for programs and vendors, which substantially

improved quality, margins and customer satisfaction.

Established communications channels and standardized process across the

procurement operation resulting in greater volume purchasing and leveraged pricing

strategies. Combined efforts reduced cost $340,000 with the first 90 days.

Formulated strategy and directed the national sales and operations for the Shared Technologies division.

Administered an $8.2 million operating and capital budget -- and led combined groups including the national

distribution operation encompassing 34 warehouses, a West Coast factory, two distribution centers, and a fleet

of 450+ vehicles, 12 direct reports and 110 employees.

Executive leadership included strategic market planning, business development, customer segmentation,

relationship management, loyalty and retention strategy and program management. Assembled an

executive oversight team to support $14 million monthly sales revenue. Launched aggressive change and

improvement initiatives across all business and operational areas including product development, asset

management, procurement, inventories, sales engineering and contract administration. Improvement

strategies directly impacted divisional growth 150% from $98 million to $240 million

Accomplishments

Part of the corporate mergers and acquisitions team, completing due diligence and final

negotiations on two successful acquisition events, and functioned as the corporate emissary to the

Nortel and NEC Executive Committees.

Upgraded and integrated technologies in the sales booking group improving functionality and

efficiency 33%. Without additional staff requirements, efforts increased sales bookings from 1.2 million

to 8.4 million per month.

Shifted the focus of back office operations from a solely process-driven environment to a more

customer, service and delivery source. Rationalized and standardized processes eliminating

redundancies and improving efficiency, saving $250,000 in the first year’s operational budget.
