Materials Manager Henkel Corporation, Lewisville, TX May 2007 - Current

Member of the management team, responsible for cost efficient logistics and purchasing operations at the Lewisville,

Texas facility. Henkel Corporation is the leading producer of adhesive, operating in 125 countries worldwide.

• Leads a diverse ethnic materials team of 13 personnel in shipping, receiving, purchasing and accurate inventory

management. Manages all aspects of the analyst team who encompass the product flow of finished, semi-finished,

WIP and raw materials throughout the operation. Ensures maintenance and stocking levels are maintained accurately

within the (WMS) warehouse management system of SAP.

• Responsible for finished goods inventory of 5.2 million and raw material inventory of 5.6 million. Executes (JIT)

just-in-time method, shipping 365 thousand pounds averaged daily both foreign and domestic. Oversees performance

based logistics metrics for more than 20 major suppliers of raw materials and packaging.

• Manages adjustment to SAP inventory for direct reporting to top management monthly reports to finance department.

• Created process improvements that increased inventory accuracy from 35% to 99.7% within 12 months of

employment though a continual cycle counting program. Developed root cause analysis to resolve inventory

discrepancies upon occurrence, ensuring correct SAP transaction work flows. On-time delivery percentage increased

24% and customer complaints per million pounds produced decreased from 8.4 to 2.3 during the same time

respectively.

• Identified cost reduction measures to replace half of the facilities’ 14 forklifts reducing the annual maintenance cost

by $55K. Also utilized the Texas railroad commission grant funding program to purchase this equipment at 80

percent off of retail saving the facility over 150K.

• Chairman of the facilities daily shipping and service meeting involving key management. Responsible for the

development and training for the Materials Department. Established the training program at site.

• Part of the SAP plant implementation and testing at the Lewisville plant. Ensured a smooth facility transition from

BPICS operating software to SAP. Have also been involved in a major SAP up-grade in August 2008.
