Duties:

Maintaining regulatory compliance and requirements for passing CAP

inspection.

Training new employees as well as maintain competency on all current staff

members.

Maintaining quality control and maintenance requirements on all

instrumentation.

Writing and maintaining all procedure manuals.

Ordering supplies and maintaining the Chemistry department budget.

Building and maintaining the Chemistry department modules in the hospital

computer system, Meditech. Also worked with Cerner previously.

Instrumental in validating and setting up new instrumentation in the

department.

1996-2006 Point of Care Coordinator

Held dual roles as POC Coordinator and Chemistry Supervisor

Started the POC program at Anna Jaques Hospital after the hospital

acquired their first glucose meters.

Set up the quality control program for the meters, performed all the

validation of the meters.

Instrumental in setting up training program for current and new

employees.

Responsible for adhering to Joint Commission regulations as well as

CAP requirements. With new upgrades responsible for choosing the

best meters that will comply with all regulations.

Brought connectivity to the POC program. Over the years the POC

program has grown. The program includes: ACT for the Cath. Lab.,

three dipstick urine instruments, one in the Emergency department, one

in the Maternity department, and on in the Fast Track. Rapid Strep

testing is performed in the Emergency department and Fast Track.

Served as the back-up to the POC Coordinator.

Hematology, Chemistry and Microbiology.
