Senior Engineer, employed to take the company into new higher value Aerospace markets from the

base of forged power generation products. Major alloys: High alloy and Stainless steels

Key achievements

• Managed the Development, Production and Quality Assurance of new alloys, processes and

vendors.

• Managed the introduction of two Nickel alloy compressor disks for Rolls Royce and a

Titanium fan blade for Pratt & Whitney F135 engine including the relevant Quality Assurance

Systems.

• Set up an automated Chemical milling/etch line capable of handling 5 different alloys

simultaneously

• Established the Chemical line to International Accreditation standards in 8 months

• Introduced new Lead free Forging Lubricant and coating line for Titanium and nickel alloys

Initially moved to the corporate office, in Georgia, as Head of Laboratory, then promoted to staff

level at Cleveland forge as New Technology Development Manager.

Key achievements

• Developed and introduced new lead and solvent free forging lubrication products and

techniques which allowed significant reduction in input weights and forging tonnages and

increased quality.

• Developed the CFM56-5 and -7 fan blades as precision forgings.

• Developed new Quality Assurance standards for International customers

• Introduced Laser and Water jet machining into the traditional processes with accredited

• Major role in the company push to Lean manufacturing with Nadcap & ISO accreditations

1989 -1996 Pratt & Whitney Ga.

Started as a Consultant and was offered a full time job as Senior Engineer with P&W (GA) in 1990.

Key achievements

• Developed new lubrication and forging techniques and increased die lives from 800 to 13,000

pieces.

• Designed and built the current business units from a traditional forge shop layout.

• After the transition to the lean manufacturing model, I designed and built a new laboratory

and got it qualified to aerospace customers and ISO in 8 months.

• Introduced new forging and ancillary processes to enable the manufacture of "new" alloys.

1979 -1989 Ontario Corporation (UK and Indiana)

Started as a Laboratory Manager and built the lab from basics to being a commercial, fully qualified

aerospace facility in 12 months. Introduced and manufactured new forging lubricants and

significantly reduced input weights and forging tonnages. Introduced the successful forging of

medical implants (prosthesis).

Major alloys: Titaniums Nickels, Greek Ascaloy, some Aluminums and S. Steels

OTHER

Project Manager in IRAN 1974 -1976 employed by AMF as a Project leader for the IGAT II 56" diam.

Oil and Gas pipeline. Responsible for the manufacturing quality and the supervision of some 20

expatriate and 30+ local laborers in Ahwaz Pipe Mills. Also successfully Commercialized TWO

laboratories for welder testing/qualifications, third party release testing and metallurgical

investigations.

I have been fully trained and qualified as a 6 sigma Green Belt and have received partial training as a

Black Belt. I have lead many Kaizen and poke-yoke teams and have extensive experience with lean

manufacturing.

I am a BSc Metallurgist, University College Wales (UK). I am a trained and certificated ISO auditor. I

gained a distinction in Qualitative and Quantitative Statistical Analysis (City & Guilds, London

Institute)

I am fully conversant with the Microsoft office suite as well as ‘Project’ and ‘Power Point’
