PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
STANDARD REGISTER, Dayton, OH 1978 – 2008
1987 – 2008
Project Engineer
Mechanical design, electrical system design and programming for specialty equipment used to produce
business forms.
• Designed inspection stations using industrial camera systems to inspect placement of labels on every form
leading to improved quality by providing 100% inspection.
• Designed system to monitor and record the actual running speeds of multiple production lines and display
data in a computer line chart format enabling quick checks of current equipment status in the plant.
• Improved quality and process efficiency by developing PLC control systems for production equipment and
process monitoring equipment.
• Developed programs using Visual Basic for office use to improve efficiencies of engineering calculation
and routine engineering tasks.
• Created programs using Visual Basic for controlling industrial equipment and interfacing various
equipment.
• Developed systems using bar coder readers and vision systems to monitor collating equipment where
multiple numbered webs are combined into a single form ensuring every ply of the form has the same
number.
• Utilized C programming in the development of systems to be used for controlling industrial equipment and
to interface different equipment.
• Installed and maintained the first Novell network for the company’s engineering department. Preformed
system backups and trained other personnel in use of the system.
• Assisted production facilities with troubleshooting and repair of business forms printing and processing
equipment.

STANDARD REGISTER (Continued)
1980 – 1987
Senior Engineer
• Partnered to select first CAD system for department and became primary operator and trainer.
• Designed a system to keep printed forms in register through multiple stations on a continuous web
production line, and to also allow a pre-printed web to be inserted into the production line in register.
• Designed a unique trigger system used to apply labels on a tandem continuous applicator system which
eliminated need for printed marks and stops for label roll changes.
• Designed CMOS logic electrical circuits, and the printed circuit board layouts.
• Wrote programs for use on personal computers to perform often-used engineering calculations to minimize
human errors and increase engineering speed.
• Streamlined programs and procedures through computerizing bills-of-materials improving efficiencies and
increasing production.
