Personal statement
I am an accomplished product management and marketing professional with substantial international
experience gained from doing business in Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, UK, US, China, Japan, Korea, and
Taiwan.
Having worked as a developer for many years I have an extremely strong technical background . I have
published technical papers, spoken at international technical conferences, and written sales and marketing
material to support technically complex products.
I have both product and industry marketing expertise and have performed a wide range of marketing activities
e.g. market research, business development, collateral creation (papers, data sheets, etc.), trade show
development, prospecting and e-mail campaigns, and web site creation. As a product manager I have dealt with
legal issues, RFPs, product launches and promotion, and worked with development and sales.
I am a US Permanent Resident.
Career History

Industry Marketing Manager - Communications & Semiconductor
Product direction. Managing international customer advisory board - the main vehicle company uses for
customer feedback for product development. Alerting company to new technological areas as threats and
opportunities for new product development. Providing the ‘voice of the customer’ advocating new features and
development areas.
Business development. Re-focusing company’s presence at major industry trade shows to business development
with significant results in terms of new senior prospects met. Conducted several successful prospecting studies
including Benelux study (which generated over €100,000 of new business in one order alone), Norway territory
study, wireless standards study, and startup prospecting study.
Market research and analysis. Providing in-depth financial analysis of company’s position in different markets
and assessing the health of those markets (the most detailed analysis in the company). Providing technology
analysis and interpretation for sales team.
Outbound marketing. Positioning company’s products in significant new areas. In support of new messages
building new sales and marketing collateral and rolling out messages to sales, marketing, and application
engineering. Speaking at company events and at accounts in the US and internationally. Key part of successful
user story program – from finding user stories to interviews. Writing articles and papers, giving press
interviews, and advising on advertising campaign. Running e-mail campaigns.
Sales. Providing sales training for new customer-facing staff (recognized as best speaker on program). Running
worldwide industry selling team (recognized as best such team in company).

RadioScape - Product Manager (US)
Product management. Provided product direction for RadioLab 3G, an advanced behavioral simulation package
for 3G wireless (UMTS), based on client interaction, market trends, competitive intelligence and technical
wireless knowledge. Coordinated and worked with development team to ensure customer commitments and
product release deadlines met. Performed cost/benefit analysis of different product development options.
Outbound marketing. Created marketing collateral, e.g. whitepapers, website etc. Spoke at conferences to
promote products. Gave press and analyst interviews about company products and industry in general.
Distributor relationships. Provided channel support to resellers in Asia and Scandinavia.
Legal. Worked with in-house legal counsel to substantially improve product licensing agreement.
RadioScape -Technical Manager (US)
Responsible for marketing & technical operations in the US, including: consulting, marketing, pre-sales, post-
sales, and team leadership. Responding to RFPs for RadioLab 3G product. Developed and ran training course in
company technology. Gave presentations at conferences and customer sites in Europe, the US, and Asia. Secured
high profile customers in the US and Asia, including Andrew, General Dynamics, Lockheed-Martin, Mitsubishi,
NTT DoCoMo, and Fujitsu.
RadioScape - Principal Software Engineer (UK)
Founded and led team of eight to create RadioLab 3G - UMTS physical layer simulation software. Responsible
for team and project management. RadioLab 3G was one of EDN Magazine’s ‘Hot 100 Products’ in 2001.
RadioScape - Senior Software Engineer (UK)
Created software real-time Ensemble Multiplexer, key part of UK commercial DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting)
transmission system. Product was awarded British Computer Society’s IT Award for Excellence in 2000.
Created audio processing algorithms for DAB receivers – work led to several patent applications and was
deployed in UK consumer products. Joined company as 10th employee.

Senior Software Engineer
Developed real-time financial markets information system. System covered bond, futures, FOREX,
commodities, and stock markets. Provided out-of-hours emergency support which prevented major multi-
