1993 to Present – L-3 Communications, Coleman Aerospace, Orlando Florida

-Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for design and development of mechanical parts and

assemblies, component selection and packaging, cable routing, acceptance test plans,

environmental testing and system requirements. Current projects involve the development of a

security device for the Department of Homeland Security, the development of a device to

monitor train wheel bearing environments and a system to reduce coal dust pollution during

coal transportation in open railcars. All systems were designed to withstand high vibration and

shock environments as well as extreme temperature cycles.

-Group Engineer for the Guidance Section of the LRALT Cobra Dane target missile.

Responsible for scheduling work assignments of mechanical engineers working on the GCU

section, layout of the structure and flight components using Pro/E, directing engineering staff in

the creation of engineering drawings, creating top level assemblies and BOM’s.

-Responsible for the structural design, component packaging and documentation of various

missile structures, fixtures and support equipment for the HERA, SRALT and LRALT target

missiles.

I was also responsible for presenting at Preliminary Design Reviews (PRD), Critical Design

Reviews (CDR) and System Requirement Reviews (SRR).

Tool Engineer / Designer responsible for the design and documentation of tools used to

support laser production. Design of environmental fixtures, optical alignment fixtures,

inspection fixtures, tooling and work holders.

Design and layout of various electronic “black” boxes. Design of plastic injection molded
