Work Experience:
1993 to Present – L-3 Communications, Coleman Aerospace, Orlando Florida
-Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for design and development of mechanical parts and
assemblies, component selection and packaging, cable routing, acceptance test plans,
environmental testing and system requirements. Current projects involve the development of a
security device for the Department of Homeland Security, the development of a device to
monitor train wheel bearing environments and a system to reduce coal dust pollution during
coal transportation in open railcars. All systems were designed to withstand high vibration and
shock environments as well as extreme temperature cycles.
-Group Engineer for the Guidance Section of the LRALT Cobra Dane target missile.
Responsible for scheduling work assignments of mechanical engineers working on the GCU
section, layout of the structure and flight components using Pro/E, directing engineering staff in
the creation of engineering drawings, creating top level assemblies and BOM’s.
-Responsible for the structural design, component packaging and documentation of various
missile structures, fixtures and support equipment for the HERA, SRALT and LRALT target
missiles.
I was also responsible for presenting at Preliminary Design Reviews (PRD), Critical Design
Reviews (CDR) and System Requirement Reviews (SRR).
1990 to 1993 – (Contract) Litton Laser Systems, Orlando Florida
Tool Engineer / Designer responsible for the design and documentation of tools used to
support laser production. Design of environmental fixtures, optical alignment fixtures,
inspection fixtures, tooling and work holders.
1988-1990 – (Contract) Martin Marietta Corporation, Orlando Florida
Design and layout of various electronic “black” boxes. Design of plastic injection molded
components, drawn aluminum components, aluminum machining, and electronic packaging.
1985-1988 – Martin Marietta Corporation, Orlando Florida
Senior Mechanical Designer responsible for design and documentation of various sections of
the Pershing II missile system and support equipment.
1980-1985 – Motorola Integrated Circuits Group, Austin Texas
Group supervisor for tool and inspection fixture design and documentation.
1977-1980 – Westinghouse Electric Co., Round Rock Texas
Mechanical Designer/Drafter responsible for the documentation of large industrial motors.
Created welded and riveted assemblies, castings, machining and sheet metal drawings.
