a suit for injunction, temporary restraining order and order appointing receiver without which the company would have been

• Saved foreign corporation that had formed a subsidiary in California from having to close due to INS not issuing nonimmigrant

status to the client’s president which would have cost client and its sole shareholder over $100,000 in capital and lost income, plus

market share.

• Successfully argued the extraordinary ability of research scientist leading to his permanent residency status in the US.

• Prepared and filed million dollar investor petitions with Immigration Service resulting in approval and creation of existing US

entity developing significant real estate project with initial capital of $12.2 million.

• Obtained Immigration Service approval for key design engineer involved in $1.5 billion dollar and $100 million dollar

Southern California Laborers’ Trust Funds 1990 - 1994

Associate, In-House Counsel

A collective name for various trusts that collect fringe benefits owed the trusts as a third party beneficiary of Laborers’ Collective

Bargain Agreement. The trusts include pension, health & welfare, training, vacation, etc. These trusts hold, invest, pay out or process the

money paid into them by contractors signatory to the Laborers’ Collective Bargain Agreement for the benefit of union laborers.

• Created document management system which substantially reduced the time necessary to prepare repetitive legal and other

documents.

• Using specific skills in accounting and finance to successfully identify key documents prior to and during discovery which

were necessary to win/settle litigation.

• Utilized software successfully to sort data obtained through litigation which revealed patterns essential to winning/settling lawsuits for

fringe benefits and related damages.

• Successfully prosecuted fringe benefit litigation. Extensive experience litigating cases in state & federal courts through trial,

and before administrative agencies in the following areas: immigration and business including LMRA & ERISA, specifically suits

for damages & equitable relief; suits to foreclose mechanics liens; and suits to collect on stop notices, payment bonds, Miller Act

bonds and state contractors' license bonds. Handled all phases of litigation through trial, including representing clients in

arbitrations and at trial; preparing a high volume of written output in law and motion, particularly discovery and dispositive

motions. Virtually all cases were settled or processed to termination through default prove-ups or summary judgment motions.

• Created form which substantially reduced administrative and attorney time required to prepare Proof of Claim forms filed

in bankruptcy court regarding fringe benefit contributions and related damages.
