EXPERIENCE
Intervoice Inc, Dallas, TX 1996 - 2009
Senior Software Engineer – R&D Department - Platform and Admin Tools
Designed and developed a Java/JEE Web Portal Application as an ESB architecture using Apache
ServiceMix and Apache Camel, JMS, etc…
Re-factored, improved performance and fixed security issues for a old Java/JEE Web Portal Application with
high visibility, part of several products and of a Telco $10 millions project;
Ported from Solaris to Linux, also identified and fixed a hard to reproduced concurrency, resource leak and
memory corruption issues for a C/C++ core infrastructure application part of an $8 millions project;
Redesigned and enhanced functionality of a Java/JEE application that controls the process/call flow and the
billing process for a $10 millions Telco project;
Enhanced profitability through added value by creating the first Intervoice’s RHEL Custom Distribution with
increased security (locked down) for Linux RHEL Server;
Increased productivity over 68% by automated Linux RHEL installs with KickStart configurations for 32-bit
and 64-bit architectures suited for Intervoice’s products needs.
Senior Software Engineer – R&D Department - Enterprise
Florian Tatar Phone: 972-***-****, E-mail: ******@***.*** Page
Two
Conformed to GoF design patterns, JEE design patterns and best practices a Java/JEE application, and fixed
concurrency issues resulting in improved performance and maintainability;
Redesigned and enhanced functionality of a core C++ code based data repository system, to conform to
best practices and GoF design patterns, which significantly improved performance, maintainability and
reliability to more of 99%;
Designed, developed and implemented a C based Core-Framework that made possible to scale-up or scale-
down the whole product architecture of the company’s products;
Designed, developed and implemented in C++, DCOM and ASP a GUI Monitoring and Administrating
application to monitor systems health and performances;
Automated Clear Case config-specs that capture the built source-code status for the CM (Configuration
Management) nightly builds by creating a code generator tool in Java, Perl and XML.
Software Engineer – R&D Department - Network Services
Formally recognized by the senior management for superior effort and results through substantial rewords.
Exceeded project expectations designing, developing and implementing an API between the Intervoice’s Core
Platform and Brite’s product applications;
Turned to success the outcome for a Telco project with the first Intervoice’s simulator created for functional
and performance testing of Telco application systems.
Reduced to less of 50% the Telco project integration duration time and to less of 90% the integration travel by
using the simulator for functional and regression testing, and as benchmarking system tool;
Increased productivity over 90% by designing, developing and implementing a code generator tool that
automated the message passing marshaling library creation, with its self unit-testing code and test cases.
Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX Before 1996
Research Assistant - Computer Science Department
Researched implementing a Parallel Processing MPMD/MIMD model for a SNAC computer w/Linux OS.
University of Sibiu, Romania
Lecturer, Teaching Assistant -- Dept. of Computer Science
Architected and implemented the first Campus Network and access to Internet, the first e-mail system of
Sibiu, Romania. First e-mail exchange between the University of Sibiu, Romania and the University of
Columbia in Missouri USA;
Founded, organized and leaded the first local Unix/Linux User Group (GURU) in Sibiu (South Transilvania),
Romania.
