Ann Arbor Summer Festival, Ann Arbor, MI March, 2008 – July, 2009

Manager, Marketing & Corporate Partnerships

Independently managed marketing and corporate partnership departments of a non-profit arts organization with a

$1.5 million operating budget. Determined strategy and developed plans for managing organization's marketing

efforts including website, marketing communications/publications, events, organizational programs, promotions,

media buys, corporate sales tools, advertising, and subsidiary marketing efforts to support and raise profile for the

organization as a whole and its supporting programs and events.

• Developed and maintained a yearly marketing budget of $90,000. Responsible for achieving or exceeding

awareness, lead generation and other quantitative goals for each line item and maximizing the return on all

expenses.

• Proposed, implemented, and managed the complete redesign of organization's website to include a refreshed

brand image, a customized Content Management System (CMS), interactive capabilities, and social media

components. Within a four month period the revised site increased the number of hits by 10 % (126,483

visits), the number of Pageviews be 30% (564,073) and the number of new visits by 60% (75,848) from the

previous year.

• Managed corporate branding, positioning and major message development in conjunction with the festival's

Executive Director.

• Developed concept and layout of a new publication, the Festival Guide, which co-branded and cross

promoted the variety of programs the festival offers. Managed the distribution of 50,000 copies throughout

the Ann Arbor community. The publication increased attendance to events, workshops, and programs as well

as exposure to corporate partners and individual donors.

• Supported subsidiary companies with strategic branding, advertising, and publication managements as

needed.

• Managed the marketing calendar and ensured that all marketing projects were on time and within budget.

• Conceptualized, developed and designed all on-site signage and promotional materials to support event

including the stage banner, multiple point-of-purchase POP displays, corporate partner signs, program-

specific and vendor-specific signs.

• Over saw marketing capital assets including their purchase, servicing, transport and storage.

• Restructured the Corporate Partnership program in conjunction with the Executive Director. Responsible for

assessing festival properties that would be viable and attractive for corporate partners and packaging

properties to sell to partners at price points ranging from $30,000-$600.00. Solidified over $150,000 in

corporate sponsorship for the 2009 season.

• Enhanced Corporate Hospitality Program by increasing hospitality options, revising pricing structure, packing

opportunities and presenting information in a detailed and attractive publication. This resulted in an increase

of twelve additional scheduled private parties for the season, accumulating $7,200 in increased private party

rental revenue.

• Personally managed the 2009 season's Private Party tents including soliciting patrons to host parties,

managing the reservations and party agreements, coordinating the catering and beverage details, on site

management and post-event follow-up.

• Created all promotional materials relating to Corporate Partnerships including a comprehensive Sponsorship

Packet, a Hospitality and Private Party packet and an Advertising Opportunity packet.

• Over saw all activities related to Corporate Partnerships. Responsibilities included campaigns, face-to-face

solicitation, pre and post event promotions, invoicing and data management, and on-site support throughout

the four week festival.
