PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

KANEKA TEXAS CORPORATION – Pasadena, Texas

-Compliance Systems Coordinator– (2008 – present)

Certified ISO Lead Auditor-Responsible for planning, scheduling, directing and coordinating ISO

activities to insure that the company’s Quality Management System requirements are met. Schedule

internal audits and conduct management reviews for all 4 plants at Pasadena site.

PSM/RPM-Responsible for planning and scheduling PHA, PSM and RMP audits to ensure safety

requirements are met.

Production Environment Coordinator-Coordinate waste disposal for the site, schedules hazardous

and Class 1 non hazardous waste shipments with various disposal companies (DOT and RCRA

trained)

Air emissions compliance-manage fugitive emissions (LDAR/HRVOC) monitoring reports and repairs

for 4 plants.

-Production Superintendent– Eperan Division (2005 – 2008)

Interface with the Shift Supervisor to provide shift-to-shift coordination of the production activities.

Monitor and audit the plant for safety and housekeeping activities.

Oversees ISO compliance and Quality manuals for Eperan Department.

Monitor employee performance and ensure that Coaching, Counseling, and Development sessions

are regularly held with the department employees.

Make changes in the work assignments of the Shift Supervisor to effectively utilize their abilities and

accomplish needed work.

Establish shift scheduling and vacation rules for the hourly employees and implement the policy.

Controls overtime to reduce labor costs. Use Ceridian Time and attendance.

Makes a monthly report of Production Department activities and performance to the Production

Manager.

W rites Plant Improvement Requests (PIR's) and screens requests of others to improve existing plant

equipment and operation.

Ensures that maintenance needs of the Production Department are communicated to the

Maintenance Department.

Develops work plans for scheduled shutdowns to minimize plant downtime.

Covers weekend call duty for the plant.

Monitors clean-outs to ensure quality standards are maintained.

Coordination and control of rework material.

-Production Specialist/Engineer– Eperan Division (2002 – 2005)

Responsible for setting commercial plant conditions (temperatures and pressures) for manufacturing of

various grades of polyethylene and polypropylene beads in a batch process which ensured products met

specifications.

Maintains Honeywell process computers and modified computer operations relating to control systems-

TDC 3000, Total Plant Batch (TPB), Phase builder and GUS Graphic Displays, ensuring the most

efficient processes are achieved.

Develops and writes procedures on the manufacturing of new or experimental batches in the plant (FGX-

water expansion process) which enable operators to safely make new grades.

Rotate plant on-call duty for both Honeywell process computer and technical support, which reduces

downtime and ensured quality products are made.

Investigates product / quality nonconformances and prepares corrective actions that prevented

reoccurrences.

Performs internal ISO 9000 audits and report on audit findings, which promotes continual improvement

of the quality management system and standards.

Communicates with raw material vendors on forecast and quality, assuring raw materials are available

for production.

-Quality Control Supervisor/Lead Technician – Eperan Division (1998 – 2002)

W rote SOP’s pertaining to lab methods so that they complied with ISO 9000 requirements.

Used Systems Applications Processes (SAP) and Access database for scheduling batches, inputting

quality data and classifying finished products, which achieved on-time shipments to customers.

Performed analytical (physical and chemical) testing on different grades of expanded polymers per

ISO9000 procedures, which ensured they met quality standards.

Operated a 10-liter PILOT PLANT bead expansion unit, which tested experimental grades of polymer

and new product development.

Implemented computer upgrade on lab Instruments (DSC-Differential scanning calorimeter and Melt flow

instrument) that computerized existing manual systems making them more efficient..

Received ‘Idea Of The Year’ award for improvement and automation of laboratory Instruments.

Implemented statistical process control (SPC), which monitored quality on daily basis using reference

standards.

NOLTEX LLC – La Porte, Texas 1994 – 1997

Lead Laboratory Technician

Started a quality control lab for manufacturing startup plant from the ground up.

Met with various vendors and purchased laboratory equipment which allowed the startup lab to open

as scheduled.

Hired, trained, and supervised four shift laboratory technicians to support operations 24 hours/day.

Developed SOP’s on the use of new instruments relating to the analytical testing of EVOH-ethylene

vinyl alcohol co-polymer process, which facilitated training of new technicians.

Operated and maintained lab instruments including Varian and HP GC (Gas Chromatograph -TCD

and FID detectors, with computer interface Data Handling System, FT-IR Spectrophotometer, Atomic

Absorption, Total Organic Carbon analyzer, FT-IR and wet chemistry.

Certified in US DOT-Department of transportation hazardous material handling.

Spearheaded a “waste minimization” committee that streamlined processes and improved waste

management system thus reducing disposal cost.
