Pacific Paper

Plant Manager – Tacoma, Washington 2007 – 2008

* Supervise 60 employees working in the Production and Maintenance Departments in a high

volume, continuous process paper converting production facility.

* Hands on manager, handled employee hiring, training and discipline. Responsible for

addressing safety issues and directing maintenance resources.

* Established or maintained standard operating procedures and running conditions for the

production lines.

* Plant contact for customer product development and production projects.

Northwest Door, Inc.

Plant Manager – Tacoma, Washington 2004 – 2007

* Supervise over 120 employees working in the Production, Maintenance, Quality and

Shipping/Receiving Departments in a high volume, high quality garage door production

facility.

* Implemented various Production Management and Reporting concepts and Supervisory

training techniques to enhance company growth.

* Key member of Management team that facilitated move from outsized old production facility

to brand new manufacturing building in 2006.

Milgard Vinyl Extrusions

Plant Manager – Tacoma, Washington 2003 – 2004

* Integral member of management team that, implemented lean manufacturing concepts and

increased plant output while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery standards.

* Supervised 140 employees in a 24 hour, 7 day PVC profile extrusion facility with 34

extrusion lines

* Responsibilities included Production, Maintenance, Recycling, Shipping/Receiving and

Delivery Departments.

Tredegar Film Products

Plant Manager – Tacoma, Washington 1993 – 2002

* $36MM in annual sales, $7.8MM annual operating budget.

* Supervise 60 employees in high performance work team environment.

* Took over plant one year after start up, plant was losing money. Focused employees’ efforts

on improving plant efficiency and reducing conversion costs. Six months later, the plant was

consistently making a profit.

* Plant consistently met or exceeded plant profit and budget goals, while the product mix

became more complicated and the product life cycles become shorter.

* The number of lines in the plant doubled.

* Led the effort to design and implement Skill-Based Training, Development and Compensation

system.

* Led the effort to design and implement annual Plant Strategic Planning and Performance

Measurement System.

Plant Manager – Fremont, California 1987 – 1993

* $24MM in annual sales, $5.2MM annual operating budget.

* Union plant with 75 employees, five extrusion lines.

* Plant also had a six color flexographic press in operation for two years.

* Involved in two successful contract negotiations with the local union.

* Successfully implemented SPC quality system on production floor.

* Company decided to close facility and move business to the new Tacoma facility.

Production Supervisor - California 1984 – 1987

* Supervised five foreman and fifty production operators in a 24 hour, 7-day extrusion area.

Process Engineer - California 1981 – 1984

* Process engineer responsible for the blown coex line and three monolayer lines.

* Designed and implemented process improvements and cost reductions.

* Assisted in experimental product runs.

* Developed and implemented operator training program.

* Received extensive training in SPC methods and Deming Management theory.
