PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

THE TIMKEN COMPANY, Timken Research, North Canton, Ohio 1988 – 2009

Process Development Technician 2000 – 2009

Identified equipment to manufacture new products designed by Product Development group.

Wrote machinery purchase specifications and negotiated price with suppliers. Conducted on-site

testing, debugging, and process optimization of machinery. Ensured machine quality standards

specified in purchase specification. Tested the machinery using statistical software, installed the

equipment in plant, and supported that equipment during life cycle of program. Managed program

and suppliers including deliverables in purchase specification, price and timing.

• Developed and tested a tooling package to machine a control cooled steel resulting in a

cost savings of $550K per year.

•Reduced overall costs 20% and reduced direct labor costs 25% by proposing a new

process for a new bearing cup line.

•Developed a process to hard turn threads in case carburized bearing cup, which has never

been successfully achieved before. This process increased profit for this program by $250K

a year.

•Developed a process for green machining integral hubs, which was $700K less than the

process proposed.

•Worked with plant on existing product line improving machine cycle time and insert tool life

which reduced cycle time by 20% and tool life was improved which saved $35K annually.

•Developed and tested a process to finish machine integral hubs which would reduce the

cost of the line by $800K and direct labor by 30%.

•Designed an in process blow off tool to clean off hub face which reduced false gauging

rejects by 75%.

• Awarded 6 Continuous Improvement Awards.
