BIMBO BAKERIES US, Ft. Worth, TX. 2007 – 2009

ENEREGY/SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER

Responsible for all energy/sustainability projects for 14 bakeries throughout the US. Established standards, system

audits and tracking systems, prepared project descriptions, calculated project savings and appropriated capital funds

for 47 major energy projects (2008). Interfaced with environmental, production and sales to provide energy

reduction and environmental impacts to major purchasers. Compressed air, steam, lighting, water resources,

electricity and natural gas systems were evaluated. Alternate energy sources such as wind and solar were also

studied.

● Orchestrated successful completion of 47 energy projects with an annual savings in excess of 2MM and a

substantial reduction in emissions.

● Developed the scope of work, prepared capital requests, prepared budgets and time tables for 47 energy

related projects for 2008.

● Personally project managed 14 major energy projects, on time and within budget.

● Extracted information from the laboratory model and engineered a 15-barrel per day functioning pilot plant.

● Conceived and developed vessels, heat exchangers, piping and reactors to operate in 100% caustic solution @

900oF.

● Directed the fabrication and installation of all major components.

arranged for contract labor and outside services.

generation and co-generation facilities; designed and installed compression facilities, consulted on

engine/compressor performance; performed maintenance audits; established maintenance programs and procedures;

and provided technical training. Prosecuted U.S. Patents on evaporative air conditioning systems and published

books and articles on industrial maintenance, Facility Engineering Handbook, and Energy Management topics.

Functioned as Vice President of Engineering for PowerSpan, Inc., overseeing their El Paso, TX. Office and

engineering function.

audits, spearheaded the development of predictive and preventive maintenance programs, procedures and
