Professional Experience
Vignette Corporation [Austin, TX] [May 2004 - present]
Currently working as Scrum Lead/Coach and Program Manager. Since joining as Sr. Software
Engineer, have grown from Team Lead to Project Manager to Program Manager and now Scrum
Lead/Coach.
As Scrum Lead/Coach, I am responsible for the adoption, evolution and institutionalization of
Scrum as the software development process across all Vignette locations spanning 4 continents
and 250+ contributors. Scrum is extremely powerful, yet lightweight framework of practices and
principles that guide a team’s response to situations. Influencing a mindset shift at the individual,
team and management levels to focus on principles rather than process has been a key factor in
the success at Vignette. Since adopting Scrum in April 2007, Vignette has seen positive benefits
such as significantly faster time-to-market, better predictability, higher team spirit and
empowerment. The role involves:
Working with Scrum teams to provide training, specific one-on-one coaching to the
•
ScrumMaster and Product Owner and ongoing interaction with the 20+ teams to provide
guidance and information.
Close collaboration with the senior leadership team ensures visibility and active redressal of
•
organizational impediments.
Constant communication with the ScrumMasters group coupled with innovative process and
organizational changes have created an environment of team empowerment and efficiency
without sacrificing organizational visibility and confidence. With Scrum, Vignette has brought 7
new products to market and shipped 15 major releases in 2 years compared to 1 new product
and 5 major releases in the 2 years prior.
As Program Manager, I provide cross-functional, cross-team, cross-geo oversight for releasing
multiple new and existing products to the market.
The role involves communicating with various stakeholders to create milestones, track
•
progress and to identify and mitigate risks.
I was also handpicked for an effort to seamlessly integrate an acquired company and to
•
bring its employees and processes into the Vignette fold. This assignment required ramping
up on the existing practices, technology and ongoing releases of the acquired company and
to help the team transition to the Vignette organization, culture and processes. A key target
was to stabilize ongoing activities and manage confidence amongst existing customers.
As Project Manager/Team Lead, I managed the development of the Content Contributor
Extensions (CCE) product with an engineering team spread across 5 time zones and 3 continents.
I was awarded the peer-recommended Engineering Outstanding Achievement Award for
•
successfully bringing together a team spread across remote locations.

Application Server, where they process and direct the incoming data to appropriate user-
defined destinations, encapsulated as EWays.
Built monitoring capability using JMX that allows real-time visual status check as well as the
