- Co-team leader of Financial Statement Audit Preparedness project reporting directly to

A special advisory committee to the U.S. Treasury Department issued recommendations that
all major U.S. public accounting firms begin to report their results, based on either US GAAP
or IFRS, on at least an annual basis to the PCAOB. The Financial Statement Audit
Preparedness project team was formed at the request of the Americas’ CFO and Americas’
Controller and charged with preparing the Firm to comply with this statutory requirement.
- Supervised a team of up to 5 staff accountants and auditors. Reviewed work and provided
feedback on a timely basis. Contributed input for personnel reviews on all team members.
- Performed a review the Firm’s FY07 annual financial statements and prepared proforma US
GAAP-compliant financial statements and related footnotes. The proforma financial statements
and a related presentation were presented to the Americas COO and Americas CFO to convey
the magnitude of the differences between financial results prepared in accordance with the US
Firm’s current internal accounting policies and the US Firm’s financial results prepared in
accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepared a bridge analysis that converted the FY07 proforma US GAAP-compliant financial
statements into IFRS compliant financial results.
- Reviewed all significant accounts and policies to determine current compliance with US GAAP
and IFRS reporting standards. Significant areas of review included revenue recognition,
financial statement close process, employee benefit accounting, software developed for internal
use, ownership of global assets, leases, and equity.
- Prepared accounting memos and policies for many areas reviewed with recommendations to
bring the Firm’s accounting into compliance with US GAAP and IFRS. Presented findings and
recommendations to the Americas CFO and Americas Controller.
