Senior Manufacturing Manager, Fine Art Lamps, Miami FL, Feb 2000-Oct 2008
• Successfully restructured factory manufacturing processes from Batch system to Manufacturing Cells
system, from concept to final implementation, redefining dept manufacturing processes and monitoring
improvements. This allowed decrease production runs from 50 pieces average to 3 pieces, WIP volume from $
150.000 to $ 30.000, cycle time passed from 35 days to 5 days, shop order due passed from 12% to 2%.
• Created a flexible organization able to provide a rapid response to changes in the market place and in
consumer demands, keeping high levels of efficiency and quality
• Implemented lean manufacturing and six sigma initiatives improving processes. Set up changes reduced to 5
min from 25 min, by using fool-proofing jigs, eliminating non-value added operations, defining SOPs, Good
Manufacturing Practices and Kaizen the processes. WIP and order released reduced establishing Kanban and
supermarket as pull systems. Take time implemented to monitor cell hour performance.
• Reorganized the work place implementing 5S initiatives obtaining better flow, organized and clean work
place and an ergonomic process increasing output an average of 3%.

purchase, labor or outsource as a strategy to follow. Organized successfully a second shift increasing production
capacity in a 30% and passing from 4000 hours weekly to almost 5200 hours weekly. Increased dept. output
passing from 5200 hrs to 6000 hours weekly average increasing efficiency 77 to 85% with the same labor and
reducing the quality rejections 14%.
• Managed Annual Budget and monthly expenses. Analyzed cost per unit, cost centers, time per unit,
production forecast, efficiency, inventory levels, etc and budgeting manufacturing hours required with its
associated labor & expenses.

• Designed and implemented QMS based on ISO 9000 as the quality management system to be used for
project procurement. Developed quality manuals that defined quality policies, documented procedures,
documentation, employees training needs, audits to perform and revisions to the system. Project procurement was
done following system.
• Successfully delivered and procured within 2 years time frame and $5 Millions budget, capital equipment
and services contracts for 2 large investment projects developed in South America with Hughes Supply and
Inelectra.
• Researched vendor performance and capacity to update approved vendor list, selecting those in conditions to
provide products and services within specs, time frame and price range.
• Managed and lead a professional team of 4 buyers, negotiating contracts, analyzing technical bids, selecting
approved vendors, placing and expediting purchase orders, inspecting and shipping merchandise. Managed a
procurement budget of $ 5 Million.

• Managed a procurement budget of $ 8 Million to purchase a wide variety of materials, supplies, services and

Venezuela. Expansion plan for a new steel lamination unit and new furnace.

• Lead the strategic direction of the factory operation and business. Managed all related aspects of factory
operations including sales and administration. Directed and managed a team of professional, technical, support
staff and floor employees providing leadership, mentoring and coaching.
• Increased our technical support and service by deploying two service centers in the East and West zones. Centers
provide pump repairs in site, technical assistance and continuous support to main customers. Service units
became profitable in short after starting by performing repairs otherwise done by client and other sub-contactors.
• Successfully negotiated long term and new contracts with client and amendments to actual orders updating
conditions and prices in lieu of providing better shipping times. Savings in order of $ 50,000. Long term orders in
the order of $ 800,000.
• Projected sales forecast and budgets determining associated labor, equipment, materials, outsourcing needs and
master plan to accomplish goal. Master Plan 5 year horizon.
• Selected and consolidated strategy to follow to increase sales and service to 40% in 5 years. Long terms contract,
customized products to customer specific requirements, established supplier alliances, provided first class
service, competitive analysis, niche marketing. Sale increases took place as expected.
• Researched and selected strategy to increase our production capacity according master plan. Capital equipment,
outsource and supplier alliances, employees training requirements. Developed new manufacturing cell system for
Plasma/thermal spray process launched to fabricate new components complementing our product line. Such
components started to be manufactured in house and not imported. Savings in the order of $ 85,000
• Designed and implemented QMS based on ISO 9000 as the quality management system to be used for all
factory operations. New quality manuals defined policies, procedures, documentation, training needs, audits,
revisions. Successfully approved by Bureau Veritas.
Manufacturing Manager-Engineer Manager-Sales Manager CNV-Leslie Controls- Wellhead de Venezuela– Steel
Valve Manufacturer, Venezuela
• Managed and directed a team of professional engineers and technician in a project to redesign our valve components
to comply with API and Exxon new requirements. Involved all calculations to determine the components sections,
designed new casting models, new assembly process, new parts designed, etc. Validated and tested all new products
designed and successfully implemented new designed product line on the floor. Submitted products for client analysis and
audit, obtaining client approval as a qualified valve supplier by Exxon and Texaco.
• Directed and successfully launched valve new product lines, from concept, casting and production to the final
assembly of end product, increasing our offer in size and pressure rating. These lines added sales in the order of $
150,000 yearly.
• Provided technical support to the manufacturing and sales operations. Defined department standard operation
procedures (SOP), required engineering documentation and inspection processes, analyzed deviation from
standard.
• Developed an aggressive sales campaign to increase customer base incorporating new clients in sectors not
previously developed. Power plants and Industrial suppliers became regular customers.
• Analyzed sale trend, projected sales scenarios and prepared budget accordingly. Implemented cost centers,
