Resistance of Textile Fabrics Experimented with fibers (nylon, polypropylene, and polyester) coated with latex and
control fibers in chlorinated water to discover new methods for filtrating water cleaning systems.
•Trained in synthetic organic techniques, such as spectroscopy (IR & NMR spectra), multi-step organic synthesis,
viscosity, unknown purification and filtrations, Thermochemistry, GC, and HPLC.

Played major part in starting TOC water testing and TOC’s SOP writing. Worked with Shimadzu Techs.
Conducted USP analysis on raw materials and finish Products (creams, astringents, and anti-bacteria and burn
ointments). Performed wet chemistry, reagent preparations, reviewing micro-analysts and analytical analysts
documentation, HPLC, TOC (along with water sampling and TOC instrument maintenance), and UV-Vis
analysis; FTIR-ATR and IR spectrometer scans. Wet chemistry included (enzymatic-buffer reaction, organic
extractions, redox-reduction reactions, zinc and acid value titrations, etc.). GMP - daily laboratory maintenance,
calibrations of instruments, cleaning glassware, lab safety, etc. Training of new employees. Validation testing
on finished products. Detailed documentation. Report preparations. Manual and spreadsheet calculations.

Managed production lab alone. Had to make quality decisions when to release a product, when to place
products on hold, and when to reject products. Vital for one to work and make decisions with production
operations. Sometimes batch adjustments had to be implemented for the release of final products. Required
speed and concentration. Data entry and written documentation was mandatory.
Tested the quality of liquid products after mixing raw materials in the kettles before first & last pack-
aging. Performed pH, acid – base titrations, viscosity, % solids, defoaming tests. Audited production lines
using EPA guidelines to ensure the correct labels, containers, caps, pumps, and filters were being used
during packaging.

Mixed batches of soap from base fatty-acids along with perfume, dye, and liquid polymer. Checked
labels on samples. Calibrated instruments with supervision; Performed viscosity and pH tests on fabric
softeners. Documentation was essential. Required one to work unsupervised. Was necessary to pay attention to
detail and batch recipes and processes.
Winstead Dental Lab Opaquer 07/01-06/02 Meridian, MS
De-gassed metal crowns at high temperatures under and without vacuum. Applied opaque (color shading) and
matching porcelain to metal crowns. Note, each process (e.g. opaque) had to be fired separately under its own
temperature settings. Spotted in crowns to their specific templates by grinding off porcelain that made contact
with adjacent teeth. Stripped porcelain crowns with acids where good laboratory techniques had to be applied.
Had to gain knowledge of other departments, such as metal waxing, investing, metal casting, and spotting crowns
due to being a fast worker.
