Schawk Retail-Marketing, Chicago, Illinois
Position: Digital Imaging Production.
Responsibilities: Production work involving image editing & retouching and document assembly, with primary
responsibilities encompassing digital imaging production, and a wide variety of related file management tasks.
Contributed to all facets of production workflow with main focus on complex image editing, sophisticated
color correction & photo-composition. The workload was very demanding with substantial quantities of
images required for a weekly schedule averaging approximately 48 pages among several concurrently-running
ad-books. I was invited to join Retail-Marketing group when K-Mart prepress/digital services were relocated
to that office from Black-Dot.
June 2005 - February 2006
Black-Dot/Seven Worldwide, Crystal Lake, Illinois
Position: Digital Imaging/Prepress Production.
Responsibilities: Production work with all phases of prepress operations ranging from pre-flight file prep,
document assembly, and final press-ready file output. Handled all stages of prepress workflow with a strong
emphasis on image conversions and sophisticated color correction & photo-composition. I participated and
assisted with integration and ramp-up of production at Black Dot for the newly acquired K-Mart account,
and was invited to join Chicago Retail-Marketing group when the K-Mart prepress/digital services were
again restructured.
June 2004 - June 2005
Active Graphics Inc., Chicago, Illinois
Position: Mac, Scanner, Operator - Color Imaging Production.
Responsibilities: Start to finish color production involving picture-image retouching, photo-composition, and
complex image editing. Handled imaging issues at all phases from concepting to plate-making. Scanning
production with Heidelberg 3800, and also digital proofing production. Other tasks included document prep,
and, handling a great variety of file management issues.
February 2003 - May 2004
L.T.D. Commodities L.L.C., Bannockburn, Illinois
Position: Prepress/DTP Production Operator.
Responsibilities: Catalog production with Mac and Windows systems including pre-flight file prep, document
assembly & editing, and a broad range of file management tasks. Lead operator handling picture-image
retouching, photo-composition and scanning production. I assisted and contributed to the creation of the
workflows & operating procedures for the newly formed prepress department.
March 2000 - November 2002
Que-Net Media/Quebecor Inc., Schaumburg, Illinois
Position: Mac/ORIS/Scitex Operations.
Responsibilities: Production work with Mac, ORIS, and Scitex systems including document assembly, pre-flight
file prep, and picture-image retouching. Trained in operations with the C.G.S.- O.R.I.S. software systems
(Open Reproduction on Industrial Standard) for Windows NT. Participated in beta testing of QuarkXpress
version 5.0. Assisted in integration of former World Color customer workflows at Que-Net/Quebecor.
Transferred to Quebecor as a result of acquisition and restructuring of World Color Inc.
June 1998 - March 2000

Position: Mac Operator.
Responsibilities: Production work with Photoshop involving sophisticated color correction and complex photo
composition. Some occasional preflight and assembly work with Quark and Illustrator. Volunteered to
participate in ISO 9002 implementation and successfully completed ISO training course. Assigned as ISO
auditor and conducted audits in accordance with ANSI/ISO/ASQC conventions. Received training on Creo
plate production systems, Kodak Approval proofing system, and also, Hell/Heidelberg ChromaGraph S3900
scanner & ChromaLight workstation.

Position: Scitex Systems/Mac Operator, Scanner Operator.
Responsibilities: Scitex systems and Mac production including preflight file prep & assembly, picture-image
retouching, document imposition, file ripping, & trapping, and outputting files to film. Inputting scans to disk,
and scanning to film. Some Iris, and, conventional proofing and contacting. Responsibilities expanded to
systems operation after successfully completing Scitex Prisma training course.
