2007 – 2009 MOVIE GALLERY – DISTRICT MANAGER
Hired to manage a district of 16 retail video stores, with a large customer base. Responsible
for all aspects of the district, including marketing, with a high emphasis on customer
service and profitability. Responsible for store manager staffing and career development.
2005 – 2007 ARAMARK UNIFORM SERVICES – DISTRICT MANAGER
Hired to manage a Sales and Route staff, while overseeing a customer base of over 400.
District revenue of $5,000,000.00 annually with a high emphasis on quality customer service.
Responsible for all aspects of the daily operations. Awarded “Most Profitable” for third
quarter 2006. “Top Sales” contest achiever for fourth quarter 2006.
1997 – 2005 OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE – MANAGING PARTNER
Hired to open and manage Outback Steakhouse in Fultondale, AL. Responsible for hiring and supervising
staff of 75 employees and was the area trainer for new Outback managers. Increased sales
and profits seven consecutive years. Highest sales volume Outback in Birmingham area for
six consecutive years. As a Managing Partner I was the General Manager and 10% owner of
that Outback with full managing and owner responsibilities including all aspects of the daily
operations. Earned prestigious National award of “Partner of the Year” in years 2000 and
2002, won the award “Best Manager Developer” in year 2003.
1996 – 1997 MCGUIRE’S IRISH PUB OF DESTIN – AREA GENERAL MANAGER
Hired to oversee construction, opening and expand the concept of 15,000 square foot
restaurant with a Micro Brewery and Retail Shop. Responsible for total construction of
building, permits and all pre-open aspects of the establishment, including training and total
operations. Gross sales the first year were $4.5M restaurant and $1.0M retail shop. Reason
for leaving company was to further my restaurant career by joining Outback Steakhouse.
1995 – 1996 BENNETT’S SMOKEHOUSE – DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Responsible for the operations of both company owned and franchised Bennett’s for parent company,
WSMP, Inc., the East Coast co-franchiser of Bennett’s Smokehouse. Also responsible for all
aspects of operating, developing and expanding the concept. Reason for leaving was due to
parent company closing the East Coast restaurants.
1988 – 1995 AUSTIN’S INTERNATIONAL – VICE PRESIDENT
A multi-unit restaurant chain based out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Was in charge of restaurant design,
permits, contractors, equipment selection and ordering, menu design, recipes, daily
operations, training manuals and hiring of all management staff. Also key responsibility was
to develop, expand and run the concept. Austin’s was able to go public (NASDAQ) in 1991
after only 3 years of starting concept. Was also on the Board of Directors. Reason for leaving
was to advance my career.
1978 – 1988 HOUSTON’S RESTAURANT – OPENING GENERAL MANAGER
A high volume restaurant doing between $4-5 million yearly. Helped open the first Houston’s as a
Manager Trainee and advanced my career with the company all the way to Top Opening
General Manager. Resigned on good terms to advance my career with a new restaurant
(Austin’s International).
