Job Description:
• Plan and control raw material activities.
a. Analyze the chemical and physical properties of solvents, binders, pigments
and additives.
• Inspect and conduct tests of finished goods to determine conformance to standard
specifications.
a. Analyze the physical and chemical properties of finished goods such as:
Water base, solvent-based paints, paint reducers and factory solutions.
• Prepare and standardize solutions needed in carrying out different chemical tests.
• Control and oversee activities in the assigned unit in the absence of immediate
superior.
• Prepare and check reports, adjustments and formulations by Technicians.
• Coordinates with production manager regarding approved or rejected finished
goods based on results of Quality Control testing.
a. Adjusts the formula in case there is an off-specs property in finished goods.
• Prepares Certificate of Analysis and Technical Data Sheets of finished products.
• Operates laboratory and production equipments such as: grind gauge, Ford cup#4,
air-driven mixers, Leneta drawdown bars, analytical balances, gloss meter,
Macbeth auto-eye spectrophotometer, DataColor spectrophotometer, BYK-
Chemie impact tester, flexibility tester, Mitutoyo film thickness tester, oven,
QUV, Q-Fog (CCT), Basket Mill, Eiger high speed disperser and Vertical Mill.
• Approves and rejects actual color of laboratory/ production batch.
• Prepares non-conformance report regarding any abnormalities.
• Establishes test method for new raw materials.
• Monitors actual batching of bulk.
• Perform other related duties that may be assigned.
