WORK EXPERIENCE
STV Inc., Design Engineer – Douglasville, PA, June 2008- Present
Practiced applying concrete and steel codes to structural designs of commercial buildings.
Formulated wind and seismic loads. Received Revit and Risa training. Performed material take-offs
and estimates. Worked closely with mechanical and architectural disciplines. Major projects
include:
• FBI Sniper Range, Quantico, VA – Designed a 3,000 square foot steel framed shed with two - 60
foot precast concrete towers.
• USDA Warehouse, Riverdale, MD - Designed the structural system for a 35 foot tall, steel framed
warehouse consisting of arched roofs supported by curved trusses.
• USDA Molecular Diagnostic Facility, Riverdale, MD – Designed the structural system for a USDA laboratory
using a grid of moment frames for the lateral system.
• New Jersey Transit Authority, New York, NY - Analyzed an existing 1960’s structure constructed of
A7 steel over I-95.
The Harman Group, Design Engineer – King of Prussia, PA, October 2007-June 2008
Prepared structural drawings and performed numerous design calculations. Learned to apply steel
and concrete codes to designing building systems and components. Major projects and sample
duties include but not limited to:
• Revel Casino, Atlantic City, NJ - Designed conventional concrete floor slab on lower levels
• Oppenheim Parking Facility, Scranton, PA - Modeled and designed steel parking structure
• Sugarhouse Casino, Philadelphia, PA – Reduced materials and cost of value engineered structure
• Valley View Casino, Pittsburgh, PA - Designed steel connections and weld details.
Ground Floor Engineering, Structural Engineering Intern - Shanghai, China, June-August 2006
Designed structural systems for large residential homes and commercial buildings using customized
excel spreadsheets and programs that resulted in a working structure that complied with code
specifications • Taught two English classes for the Chinese employees.
Bala Consulting Engineering, Structural Engineering Intern- King of Prussia, PA, Fall 2006
Assisted in the structural design of commercial buildings by editing Auto-CAD drawings and checking
shop drawings in order to produce reliable, quality designs.
Langan Engineering, Site/Civil Engineering Intern- Philadelphia, PA, June-August 2005
Worked on elaborate Auto-CAD drawings for the site design of large commercial projects that
included details for storm runoff, grading and parking lot planning that complied with the township’s
guidelines and site design codes.
Bala Consulting Engineers, Office Assistant- King of Prussia, PA, 1998-2002
Assisted with administrative duties ranging from marketing to office managing.
