WORK EXPERIENCE
NAD ENGINEERING INC., Cincinnati, Ohio 2002 - 2009
Structural Engineer
Responsibilities: Structural Engineer of Record for Architectural companies. Teamed with Engineering
companies as a subconsultant/contractor. Commercial and institutional projects included schools,
hospitals, office buildings and convention center expansion. Industrial projects involved analysis and
design of structures and foundations for power plants, manufacturing plants, equipment support
structures, open towers and pipe racks. Responsible for leading the engineering design, detailing,
production of drawings and contract documents. Coordinated design with other discipline team members
and clients. Performed quality control duties, checked calculations and designs of work done by other
engineers.
Accomplishments:
• Produced well coordinated drawings which eliminated costly redesigns during the construction phase.
• Worked well in a team environment with Architects, Engineers and Contractors.
• Delivered projects within budget.
• Exceeded expectations of owners and clients.
• Addressed project needs effectively and in a timely fashion.
JACOBS ENGINEERING INC., Cincinnati, Ohio 1995 - 2002
Senior Structural Engineer
Responsibilities: Lead Engineer on a 15,000 square foot facility services building. Utilized a three
dimensional model for seismic analysis and design including detailing all steel connections (seismic
zone 4). Designed a foundation mat for a 200,000 square foot manufacturing building utilizing finite
element modeling and analysis ($150M pharmaceutical plant).
Lead Engineer on a 50,000 square foot pharmaceutical manufacturing building ($50M).
Designed various structural components for a pulp and paper plant ($250M).
Lead Engineer on multi story laboratory buildings ($30-40M).
Lead Engineer on various industrial buildings and support structures.
Accomplishments:
• Met all contract document production deadlines.
• Provided effective field support.
A.M.G. INC., Dayton, Ohio 1993 -1995
Senior Structural Engineer
Responsibilities: Designed foundations and superstructure for manufacturing facilities for corn
processing plants in the $90 - $190 M range. These included flash dryer component supports, platforms
and long span exterior pipe racks.
Accomplishments:
• Produced accurate contract documents on schedule within a fast track environment.
• Improved efficiency of framing systems resulting in reduced material costs.
AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER SERVICE CORP., Columbus, Ohio 1990-1993
Senior Structural Engineer
Responsibilities: Led the structural design of all company service/office buildings in the $3-5M range
located in four states. Designed buildings, equipment and conveyor supports for power plants. Checked
the work of other engineers.
Accomplishments:
• Utilized more efficient design methods, which reduced structural steel tonnages by 30%.
• Reduced design and drafting time by extensive use of standardized details.
KORDA/NEMETH ENGINEERING, INC., Columbus, Ohio 1984-1990
Project Manager and Structural Engineer
Responsibilities: Designed commercial, institutional and industrial building structures utilizing concrete,
structural steel, wood, masonry and light gauge metal. Directed and led teams of engineers of different
disciplines.
Accomplishments:
• Generated preliminary design alternatives including analysis of cost and code compliance resulting in
the most cost and functionally efficient design.
• Completed projects within time and cost budgets.
• Succeeded in leading project teams to produce well-coordinated buildings, minimizing problems and
design changes during construction.
• Conducted site inspections ensuring compliance with project drawings and specifications.
• Provided practical solutions for problems arising during construction phase, minimizing construction
delays.
GILBERT/COMMONWEALTH, Reading, Pennsylvania 1982-1983
