IBM SYSTEM STORAGE GROUP, Tucson, AZ

2003 – 2009

Advisory Software Engineer, IBM ESS Copy Services Microcode

Wrote and debugged embedded software to support new functions in various IBM Disk subsystems. Supported

code from development lab to customer availability. This was an object-oriented C code design running on a

multi-threaded, multi-processor environment based on AIX and Linux. Often worked independently with

minimal direction. Served as occasional Technical Team Lead, a nd represented the department in various

technical meetings.

Debugged all manner of code errors on the AIX/Linux platforms of these products; IBM products had to

be error-free for delivery to customers and to meet quality expectations.

Advisory Programmer, Control Unit Microcode Development

Team lead for Service Processor function on various hardware platforms. This was embedded

software to support a new Tape Control Unit. Also spent 6 months in a Tools Department supporting

a common Disk/Tape Subsystem.
